Hello everyone,

Just picked up my 2021 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 yesterday. I needed a new vehicle for work and decided I was tired of driving my Honda Civic (11 years and 211k miles). I looked at the Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, and Honda Ridgeline. The Ranger stuck out to me because of the Ecoboost engine and I wanted to try one. Then it was down to deciding if I wanted 4x4 or not. My heart said hell yeah but my brain was telling me to save 4-5k.... Well you see which one won that battle lol. I paid 38.5k+ TTL for it, which was able $300 less than MSRP minus all the discounts on the original window sticker. It had 2800 miles on it when I picked it up and looked/smelled brand new.

Anyway, on to the pictures. Yeah, I took it offroad the first day I had it lol.

Welcome Scott! Good choice on deciding to go with the Ranger and I'm sure you'll love it. There's a ton of info here and many willing to help if you have any questions. I heard (by @Elmosaurus) that you were already warned that joining here means you'll spending all your money. lol

I'm used to that between the gun forums, motorcycle forums, knife forums, etc.... I'm surprised they even gave me the loan.

I would say 'be judicious' about which mods you really 'need' versus ones you just 'want'.

But you can see from my sig I'd be full of crap if I typed that out. LOLOL.

Welcome to the forum!! ?

Honestly I don't plan on doing anything to it but drive it for the foreseeable future. I used to want to mod everything but as I've gotten older, I prefer leaving things stock. I love the way it looks, and the only thing I may do is replace the rear shocks with Bilsteins. I ordered Husky floor liners since I tend to get my feet dirty at work (I'm in sales and drive to lots of dirty places).

They are pretty, just as is from the factory, for sure. So I don't blame you at all for wanting to leave it (mostly) stock.

It's a shame the tailgate is so damn heavy though... If only someone made a product to ASSIST you with DAMPENING the way it slams downwards....

Good looking truck, nice photos! Agree with you on the want/need balance. Look - while I'm on the I-15 driving to work my theoretical capability puts a big old smile on my face. So in a weird way the 4x4 does its job in 2H.

Enjoy in best of health.

My other "Ranger" does it's fair share of off-roading. It's a 1981 F-150 Ranger.
