I went out into the garage yesterday to do a little more tinkering on the new Ranger and discover the battery was dead. I guess you can't leave these sit for two weeks??

So, today I installed permanent wiring with to the battery so I can connect a battery maintainer without opening the hood.

Removed the factory plastic covering from the touch screen and installed a screen protector.

And the last thing for today.....I ordered a Leer hf650m hard folding tonneau cover. (four panel)

Spent Sunday afternoon after watching Dolphins/Bills doing some pre-overland expo east maintenance. Did an oil change and removed my wheels to check that the wheel spacers are still torqued to spec. Brake pads still look to be in good shape after 37.5k miles. Also had the opportunity to use my new Ryobi 18v Impact Gun.

Ended the afternoon with a well deserved beer and cigar.

Do you have a part number for this?
I actually needed one installed a few weeks ago as someone bumped the rear while I was stopped at a light. Luckily no damage.

I installed a step that also helps people on cell phones/not paying attention flush their cooling system via removing part of the radiator.

Ford Dealer checked my battery the other day with the hand-held tester and the results showed it to be deficient. Took it in this AM and had a complete diagnostic (covered under warranty) done on it...results were positive! âś”

There was a Cyber Screw in the line behind me (pic below...nice color!)

I am going to have mine checked next week. The Ranger has been sitting in my garage since I took possession of it back on Sept. 9th. (I am still driving the old 2011 Ranger for a while longer) I went to start it a couple days ago (9-24) and the battery was dead.

I trickle charged it for 48 hours and now have a permanent wire harness connected to the battery and a maintainer plugged in 24-7.

Wondering if it was low because the vehicle had been sitting on the dealers lot for quite a while?

Good question. I was not having any problems with my battery that I know of except for the instrument panel lights shutting off for 45 seconds several weeks ago but not sure if this was a battery related issue, and it hasn't re-occurred:

Instrument lights shut off and then came back on | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com

I asked the Dealer to check the water level and discovered then that it was sealed so they offered to do a test with the hand-held. Then followed up with the full diagnostic.

Attached photos of my 2011 that I traded in on the 2020 :)

Good looking rig!

I will be listing mine for sale soon. It has been a great little truck. Kinda hate to part with it.

Your 2011 is really nice looking.
I was reluctant to part with mine and had some remorse after the trade. But after driving the 2020 for a few weeks was relieved at how well it handled and performed. No significant problems with it and absolutely no regrets now and would do it again.

You should be able to get a good price for your truck. The 4g's are really in demand and several dealers told me they had customers that were looking for them. I turned in the 2011 and closed the deal on my trade one evening near the Dealers closing time. Went back the next morning to finalize the paperwork and the 2011 was already gone even before that had a chance to prep it!

I’m usually changing it out around 5k, but have gone a bit more on occasion.
