So, while I'm interviewing for that position (still need your fingers crossed for that), I've also enrolled full time as a student to get an Associate's Of Graphic Design to go with my Bachelor's of Industrial Design degree. I'm currently enrolled in a photography class and our first big assignment is a series of ten photographs. I figured you guys might get a kick out of three of the ten photos I've submitted. ?

This photo fulfills one of the requirements to submit a photo capturing some kind of detail. The title of this one is Serious Business.

This next photo is supposed to explore interesting framing of a shot. It's titled Pesky Owl.

And this photo fulfills one of the requirements to submit photos with an interesting vantage point. I've titled this one The Business End.

One of the things I'm enjoying about this class is I'm a bit hamstringed by my equipment. I have two old (of course) film SLR cameras, but we're mostly working in digital for this class. As much as I would love a DSLR camera, it's just not in the cards right now for the fact that I'm a full time student, not working, and I'm managing a huge home reno project. So I've taken all of my photos with my Samsung Galaxy S21 phone and then tweaked them on Photoshop. It's a bit of a pain to get the photos shot how I want them, but I'm learning a little about how to manipulate the phone's camera.

Anyone compare the LCP II to the LCP Max for a pocket gun? I want something that disappears in a pocket holster. The Max is only $40 more but it's going to be thicker obviously so leaning towards the II.

I have the LCP II in 22LR.......great carry/backup gun. Mine runs flawless with CCI mini-mags and Aguila Super RN @ 1255fps. Some will say 22LR for a carry gun?........I say I wouldn't want to get shot 10 times with 22LR.

Ever hear the story about how a .22 revolver saved a man from a bear attack?

He made it, but his buddy got mauled by the bear after taking a CCI to the knee. haha

Well for some reason the LCP 22lr is bigger than the LCP II so I don't see any reason to get the 22lr. I wouldn't even step down to a 380 but I think the Underwood Xtreme (philips head) rounds will be effective enough.

My question though is how well does it work as a pocket gun? Cargo pants and jeans it conceals well? My G43 does not.

My LCP II conceals very well. Had it in my pocket while shopping with the wife.......one of our local ganger-wannabees walked by and the wife asked me if I was carrying.......I said yes and pointed to my pocket.........she said OK cause she couldn't tell if I had it or not. I have the LCP II in 22LR and NOT the regular LCP.

I haven't heard that! I did hear a guy was walking with his buddy in the woods.......they saw a bear.......One said 'think we can outrun that bear?'..........the other said 'I just have to outrun you!' LOL

Only flaw I see in the LCP II is the safety. When racking the slide to chamber a round.....the safety can be switched 'ON'. I took the safety switch out and filed the top down so it was level with the frame. No more accidental setting of the safety.

I got a big can of bear spray after catching this on a trail cam. I would not shoot this thing unless I had some real firepower, lest I just make it madder. The bear spray on the other hand annoys them to go away instead of charge.

I have a couple of random noob questions for you, my expert friends...

When cleaning my 5.56, I have found that I can't get any patches down the bore but .22 cal. I have purchased patches that SAY they're for 5.56, but they won't go. I have also purchased a "supposed" 5.56 cleaning kit (not very expensive), and have found that little that is in the kit is useful to me . Brushes won't fit, patches won't fit, and the rod/extensions aren't long enough to go down the barrel so I end up using my .22 cleaning tools to do the job. What the heck am I doing wrong???

Just in case you're of a mind to consider, there's also this...

Hellcat Pro or P365 XL (I'm considering a new weapon)
Do any of you have experiences good or bad with either one?

Update (because I still need some guidance):

I bought the Walther PDP-F (I have girly/hobbit hands that are becoming arthritic by degrees), mainly because it just felt the best in my hands and I was able to manipulate the slide better on it than I was able to on the P365 XL or the Hellcat Pro. All three felt reasonably equal in weight, but the Walther felt the best and I still get 15 round capacity.

My problem now is this: Practically no holsters available yet for this weapon! Walther is sold out, and it appears it's too new to have many of the major manufacturers advertising any availability for it at all. I was able to find a Legacy Firearms Cronus ( https://legacyfirearmsco.com/quick-ship-cronus-iwb/ ) so as to try the IWB thing, and have also contacted Urban Carry to request notification if/when they produce their Lock-Leather Hybrid OWB holster (looks interesting and comfortable on the website).

Do any of y'all have experience with these companies at all? Do you have recommendations of your own for IWB and OWB holsters when the newness of the Walther PDP-F wears off?

I didn't know the LCP II had a safety???

i know folks love to hate them but the best pocket gun i have ever seen was the kel tec p380 or p32. thin light and fits in a shirt pocket even. are they fit to hit the beaches with the marines or coast guard - no. will they handle a creep with a knife yep.

It either works, or the best uses the pepper spray to spice up his dinner (you) ?

I wouldn’t want to tangle with a bear either! Armed or unarmed.

You mean the P-3AT? It looks even smaller than the LCP, wow.
