Has anyone with a Tremor upgraded their front suspension to the Fox 2.0 coil overs? I would like the adjustability of them but not sure if it’s worth the money or not? Is the ride quality the same, better, etc? what are the perks/drawbacks?

Did you mean the fox 3.0? The 2.0 in the rear would be a downgrade and the front, potentially one too outside of the threaded body. There is no external valve control on the 2.0 Ford Racing 2.0 kit. It is probably messing with your head, it bugged me too but......

I called fox when I got the Tremor and asked if there was a difference between the kits in the front. The tech said the Tremor ones are their 2.0 OEM equivalent but should have a tune specific to the Tremor package too. Vague but enough for me to just install the 1" level from Ford Ranger Lifts.

If I were to ever upgrade the Tremor's Fox shocks, it would either be for Kings or Fox 3.0. I am partial to Fox because of my younger days mountain biking.

I have had the truck at 50-55mph off-road (not graded or maintained but smooth with some uneven spots) and it also climbs great as well as tows great. I personally will not be changing the shocks/coilovers unless I do a long travel kit....which is unlikely.

I am curious about upper control arms but I hear those are basically not needed with the Tremor and 1" level.

Just my .02 cents.

No idea how much of an upgrade it is, since the fronts I imagine are very similar maybe with slightly different valving. Would be curious to know the difference in the rears, as the tremor ones are still monotubes with a res. Adjustability on the fronts is minimal tho, you can adjust ride height/preload, but its a pain to do so. If adjustability is what you want, then a fox 2.5 or similar is likely what you're after. If you just want to level the truck, probably get a 1" spacer for the front.

I don't have a Tremor, but my experience with the Fox 2.0 was it is hard to adjust, cause you can't while it is loaded not like the other ones. My installer took couple of times to remove and re adjust. Fox was the only ones available at that time but I'll probably go with Eibach in couple of months to achieve the 3.5 inch lift without spacers.

I meant the 2.0s in the front. I would definitely being leaving the rears alone unless I upgrade to the FOX Factory Race 2.5 Adjustable RR Rear Shocks.

I also have a leveling kit on my truck straight from the dealer (KG Custom) but would prefer to have actual coil overs installed over a spacer as I installed the Camburg UCAs. They do make a difference by the way.

Reason I am asking this is because Camburg specifically states “These arms are designed for 1-3” of lift from coilovers and to be used with stock OEM spindles or Camburg performance spindles. These are NOT designed to be used with cheap spacer type lifts.” That being said, I notice at full droop that the brackets which hold the ABS lines are contacting the springs on the front struts. Also, with the new uppers, at full lock out, I’m getting slight rubbing now against the sway bar which I never had before and the only thing I changed were the UCAs.

I was wondering/hoping a cheap set of 2.0s would change the geometry enough to where I wouldn’t have these issues any more after another alignment. Otherwise, I’m going to have to get a different offest wheel or slightly narrower tires (currently running 305/60r18) which I’d prefer not to have to do until it’s time to replace the tires, and also install a limiting strap or lower arms lockouts.

2.5s are more than likely my ultimate plan, but until I decide between a BDS 6” lift or a long travel kit, I really don’t want to drop much more than 1k at this time. Hence my asking about the 2.0s in the meantime.

I had same issue with UCA when I added the spacer on the Fox 2.0. I was told by superlift that because of the spacer and coilover is the reason why the UCA is hitting the flange on the strut housing. The spacer was design for the stock strut and not for after market. Reason I might go with Eiback and a different UCA. Eiback can be adjusted to 3.75 inch.

From personal experience, I recommend against the Fox 2.0 strictly because the adjustment collar requires a specific spanner, does not utilize a typical spanner/punch connection. The fox-specific spanner is difficult to find. I suggest 2.5's or another brand which utilize a universal spanner size. Additionally, most 2.0 kits do not come with the required spanner.

Ignoring the spanner issue, I love the 2.0's I have on my truck, big upgrade from FX4.

I emailed Fox about this. The stock Fox shocks on the Tremor are better than the 2.0. If you wanted better shocks than we already have they would be the Fox 2.5. See my attached email

I think talked to same sales guy on a 4Wheel show in Ontario CA about 1.5 years ago. I learned then that all the shocks designers/manufacturers are here in SoCal. I was looking for a shocks that could accommodate a lift up to 3.5 inch and Fox said that they don't have any, I pointed out that we are standing next to a Ranger with BDS lifted to 6 inch on a 35s tires. He was like I'm here to look at how it was possible for BDS to do this lift. He told me just use Fox 2.0 and wait out cause they are developing Fox 2.5 or even Fox 3.5 and might be able to adjuste it while it is loaded. He mentioned about waiting till 6G Ranger comes out with the Raptor.
