So, (Be patient with me here) the offset will determine how much the wheel/tire combo sticks out from under the fender? 55 would be flush, like from the factory, and 20, 30, 40 would make them stand out in varying degrees?
Yes offset measure how far the tire sticks out. It is measured in mm, so from 55 to 0 will move the tire more than 2 inches farther out. A +30 offset would move the tire out 1 inch from where it is now.

Brian, this will help you see what an offset different than the +55 we have on our Rangers will look like. It's easy, and very helpful. I just had the same situation looking for wheels to fit my Jeep Wrangler. I didn't want the tire outside the fenders, and this little calculator helped me greatly.

https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/

BTW, after all of my searching I found a set of Rubicon take-offs on FaceBook Marketplace that I bought. I knew they would fit with no problems.
Very helpful, thanks. So, if I understand this correctly, the stock wheels have a 55 offset, is that correct? And to replicate the look I would have to buy the same, 55 offset, correct again? Then if I went with a wheel, same tire, but a 30mm offset, the whole thing would stick out an inch more than stock? Bear with me, I'm easily confused. It's all this math stuff...

yes the stock wheels excluding roush and tremors have +55 offset. If you want to maintain that exact same look just in black wheels. You could potentially look into powder coating your current ones. Otherwise id recommend something +35-55 offset if you dont want any poke. And as long as you maintain the same size tires you shouldn’t have too worry about crash bar mods.

25 imo will poke ever so slightly, i think 30-35 will still be flush/under fender. For reference heres mine with +20

Keep an eye on the classifieds here an maybe check eBay. A lot of guys that want bigger tires want different rims too so the black ones pop up. If I wanted to run black wheels the 2 you posted from tire rack look good. My truck came with the chrome package so I'm limited on replacement wheels. I like the black bumper/wheel combo but I'm not looking to change my bumpers too.

Thanks, I've bought some black parts for a semi-black look. Black grill, side vents, mirror caps and working on wheels. So kind of a modified look, my Ranger is Cactus Gray, a very eye catching color.

Don't worry about being confused brother. I was in the same place not long ago. It took me a bit to understand how the offset works. Think of it this way. The Ranger wheels are a +55 offset. If the numbers start going down from +55 all the way to the negative numbers that will push you wheel/tire farther to the outside of the truck. And of course it's vice versa if the numbers go higher.

Thanks for keeping it simple. Did I mention I'm only 7 years old? ?

Question then why are the black package wheels not the standard +55?

I would think they would be the same on all the Rangers +55? Brian then you could buy one of the guys black sets that they want to sell. I would almost like them on my Ranger. The black would look pretty sweet.
