I'm going to be removing my crash bars and replacing them with the Readylift High Clearance Anti-Intrusion Beams. From researching all the related threads, I want to give the No Cut Crash Bar Removal a shot. So, to those that have used this method to remove/swap the crash bars on your trucks, what issues did you have in removing the plastic cover on the bumper? Is there a good way to avoid breaking the clips on the plastic when removing that piece? How easy was it to reinstall? I did watch the Stage 3 Motorsports video on the Putco Lower Grill Insert install. It looked pretty easy from the video, however, I wanted to get some feedback from those of you who've done it in your driveway or garage.

I had no issues Kevin in removing all four bars without cutting...what plastic cover are you referring to?

It's the lower plastic cover that's over the tow hooks and partially covers the intercooler.

I've seen it referred to as the lower fascia

It pulls off quite easily, start from one side and work it loose.
here are some pics of the back so you can see where the clips are located

Sid,
How did you remove the two rear crash bars without cutting them?

If you go to my build thread, there was a point after removing the front bars, I thought the rear wasn't going to come out because it just didn't clear the fender (photo there showing it was a fraction of an inch more needed)...later I realized that if I removed the lower bolt at the bottom rear of the fender, I could pry it a little away from chassis panel with a screw driver and just make enough room to allow the rear bars to slide out...voila ?

Thanks to Msfitoy (Sid) and Bfastr (Bob) for all your help. I was able to get the front crash bars out without cutting! I’ll tackle the rear crash bars this weekend. Thanks again for your help guys!
