Today's pic: an oil test report from a small 2 cylinder race bike that had the piss beat out of it for 6 hours.

The comments from these guys are pretty good. I was indeed running leaded race gas. Particles from my piston are starting to show up in my oil. Their recommendation was I could go a little longer than 6 hours between oil changes.

Use to stay there when we went down for Bike Week. Nice ride down to daytona every day. Hated staying in town visiting down there was bad enough.

Camping photos taken this weekend. Our overly nice weather is suppose to be ending but we'll continue to camp and do trail work, if weather allows. We are clearing a NFS trail at Courtney lake campground in the UP of MI. The bottom photo was taken a few weeks earlier.

Since you guys like XC and snow photos, here is a few more. Hope you like them! The jump is the ski flying structure (Copper Peak is not classified as a jump, its larger than those) near Bessemer MI. The 2nd to the bottom is a locale river we ski along and is flowing. Rivers and streams do not freeze over here.

45 years ago, the gales of November on the largest freshwater lake in the world took the Edmund Fitzgerald. In honor of them, Split Rock Lighthouse is lit once a year, the bell is chimed 29 times, and each member's name is read aloud. An emotional moment to be sure. I usually make it to see the lighting in person, but not this year for obvious reasons.

The lighthouse signaling the safety of Whitefish Bay, that those men never got to see that night.

This is my one of my favorite iterations of the infamous Gordon Lightfoot song, since it includes footage of the Fitzgerald, news footage, and actual radio transmissions of the incident. Makes it much more real.

Speaking of lake boat accidents, here is the Whitefish Bay on its maiden voyage upbound on the St Clair River in 2013 and just about rolled a fishing boat over. They had engine trouble and couldn't move out of the way. If you catch the sound recording on Youtube of the captain speaking to the Canadian coast guard, its pretty comical. No one was hurt. Sorry I can't make the video viewable here.

if ya'll like boat crashes, this was in the welland canal in Niagara falls area a number of years ago.

The bridge operator was on something which turned into a legal snafu. He lowered the bridge just as the boat got there and it was lucky, no one was killed on that boat.
