Hi all, Just picked up my first Ranger since my last one in 1982, (Mid life crisis truck) Anyway it came with the Chrome package. I am thinking to change out sticking with stock height as I am not a mod master. Do I have to get new sensors as well as rims? Sorry if this is already answered didn't know for sure how to word my search. Thanks in advance

I switched my stock TPMS over to my new wheels, they will recalibrate themselves.

I have the chrome package too an haven't seen any aftermarket chrome wheels. I don't think non chrome wheels would look good unless they were black center with chrome lips.

I was eye bawling some Black with Red. I dont have to big of problem with the look of the chrome. Its more about the time taking care of it. My wife had a serious health issue last year and is now handicaped ( doing well considering) I am usually gone 11 hours a day for work and then of course taking care of her and the house takes a lot of my time. So I am thinking something less maintenence for wheels that still look good.

The silver-painted version of your chrome wheels is the least expensive thing you can buy. I’ve seen them in black, but very few. I bought five of them (used) for under $500. Adding sensors, tires and mount/balance brought the total to about $1600 for winter use. My 18” chrome set will go back on the truck when all of the salt is washed away by the spring rain.

I think the silver looks good with the chrome trim.

Welcome to the site @Black Bart and congrats on the new truck!

As mentioned, the factory TPMS sensors can be transferred to the new wheels. If you plan on selling the factory tire/wheel combo, you may want to consider new sensors.

So funny. I just did the exact opposite and switched from black wheels to Chrome. Had Discount Tire do the switch out, they charged me 140ish for the service. I did not buy the wheels from them. They simply transferred the sensors. If you go to the Ford Website, under build your own Ranger you can play around with the appearance packages to see what looks best. Also Discount tire has a similar tool with their wheels. Good Luck. Totally get it, the shoes make the outfit.
