As regular attending forum members know, the Neighborhood Damper Selection Committee has been threatenin...er suggesting? that my truck was in special need of damnpering ?.
After millions of messages (e.g.

I've offered to buy you one so you have two more chances, birthday and Christmas. Then the offer expires and you'll never know the hp gains you're missing out on.

Haven't forgotten our deal and remember, I'll ( if) I get one, I'll buy it and you get to donate cost to animal rescue service of choice... Maybe it'll be a Thanksgiving time thing before all hell breaks loose in the coming new year

After careful and agonizing consideration, I decided that the rescue buddies are going to be in real need and made the decision to buy a damper, just so Dave (@AzScorpion ) can make the donation happen. Here's the screen shot of the purchase today:

Now that this battle royal is over and before I lose my Bluto like arm muscles, we'll need to find a replacement. Besides, what's life without a little Tastes Great, Less Filling happening... watch Smokin Joe 'splain it to you.

Hi Terry,

I have become fluent in Gila Monster. We have quite a few crossing one of the roads on which we walk for exercise. These Glia Monsters are occasionally plodding across the road... So I stand in the road and get the cars to pass around me and protect the Gila Monster. Sometimes the Gila Monster decides to stop and turn around, open its mouth and emit a loud hiss. I have found out that I can out hiss them, they shut their mouth...turn around and kick it in to high gear and get off the road. I have only grabbed one behind the front legs to move it...their beaded skin is really cool to touch... Funniest was a super tiny Gila Monster that was in our outer yard beyond the wall where we keep Tito...our Tortoise. It opened its mouth and sort of hissed but being only about 3" long there was no audible sound. It was so cute... We just left it alone and it went on its way back into the desert on the edge of which we live.

Hi Phil.

Great story, reminds me of a Disney short on nature. I can hear that voice over now watching you scoot that little one away from Tito. I had to Google up the name (Winston Hibler ) but all the films were shown in grade school when I saw them. One of those odd memories that get triggered by comment.
