I found out there was a gun thread and decided to join in! I work in law enforcement, have been a firearms instructor for the past 8-ish years, and was a full time instructor until I was volun-promoted about a year and a half ago. I haven't bought any new guns in the past few years but I love shooting!

Unfortunately I can't share any of the cool stuff from work. I have some cool work stuff and some fun videos (Daniel Defense full auto, Colt Commando full auto, Sig MPX full auto, MP5 full auto, 300 blk out T&E rifle full auto, Thompson full auto, 40mm launcher, etc. ?). I miss my days with our training group. we'd get bored and grab full auto guns out of the armory and draw a couple thousand rounds of ammo!

Welcome to our little piece of heave here. lol As Doug said we always enjoy more guns here! :D I like the old school Colt,it must of been fun building it and hunting down all the parts. I'm super jealous of all the cool full autos you get to play with especially the Sig MPX!! The only full auto I've used was a 22 rifle which was fun but I want one with a little more power!!?

Gun sales continue to climb and set records. :like:

Please note: Twenty-five states currently have at least one qualified alternative permit, which under the Brady Act allows the permit-holder, who has undergone a background check to obtain the permit, to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer without a separate additional background check for that transfer. The number of NICS checks in these states does not include these legal transfers based on qualifying permits and NSSF does not adjust for these transfers.
AZ is one of the 25 states. Now that I have my CCW I can forgo the NICS check which usually saves about 15 minutes or so depending on how backlogged the system is. I can imagine how high these sales really are considering there are 25 states falling into this category.

@joeb427 They're not having the 50% discount today at Targetsports on the Federal HST. I Had asked on their Q&A section and their response is below. I might grab a couple more boxes myself because my Prime membership ends in July and I doubt I'll renew as I'm good and stocked for a while. :D

Frequently Asked Questions
Question:Are you going to have the 50% off sale today? - David (05/07/2020)

I was leery buying this cheap cost Ruger LCPII w/laser for $352. I'm one of those 'you get what you
pay for' guys.
Well, my wife has been having a breakdown pin issue popping out a bit. I was going to call Ruger. Frequent jams even with the pin in.
Today, it did the pin thing and the trigger pull is nothing. trigger safety works but no trigger fire. Just trigger going front to back.
I called Ruger. The rep was great. She sent me a return label and made a record of my issues.
So I figured I'd clean the pistol before sending it back. When done, the slide won't go all the way back. There's a thin spring end that is supposed to go down into the gun but it goes off to the side under the slide.
Just dropped the gun off at UPS.

It's funny. I had a Kahr MK9 on order I canceled and then ordered a Kahr P380. I love that tiny gun and figured it would be a great back up for the wife if the Ruger failed.
Vizards had the P380 in stock and I ordered it. I get a tracking number this morning. This afternoon I get this. Friggen ass clowns.

We have canceled and refunded this order. The model sent from the manufacturer is not the correct one. They do not have an eta on the correct model shipping.

Transaction Successfully Refunded

So, I'll wait. I do have P380 mags coming from Ebay and MidwayUSA but I'll keep them.

That sucks about the Ruger but they have really good customer service. Trust me I know, remember back in January I had several problems with my new Kimber the first day out with it. I have around 400 rounds through it now with zero issues. As much as it sucks sending it back, once you get it back it'll be better than new. I know Kimber replaced a few other things and also polished the feed ramp so I think when they get these back they go through them more thorough. Plus they've seen other issues yours may not have but will probably check based on previous ones.

So as you all probably assumed I ordered the Sig P365 XL this morning....I have NO will power! I opted for the black one instead of the Coyote Tan as it was $50.00 cheaper, that's how I justified it. lol Although it really wasn't as the Coyote Tan came with 3 mags and eventually I'll be buying more black ones. After taking with the salesman on the phone I can't wait to get it. He has one along with a Shield and a Hellcat and says this one is his favorite. He loves the others too but likes how the grip and slide on the XL are just a little longer. It might be 7-10 days because they're so backed up with orders but he said he try and get it out sooner. I'm done! No really!!

My SA 1911 finally arrived today from Colorado. I only have one other SA and this one is just as nice fit and finish. Very tight slide to frame and a nice light trigger. I was surprised that the 2 pistol gun bag is a lot nicer than I expected but then SA always has good quality stuff. It's padded very well for 2 pistols and head 6 mag pouches inside along with a good sized zipper pocket outside. Damn it's bad enough 1911's are addicting but I'm such a sucker for a good deal. $719.00 shipped and the next best price was $110.00 more. I really need to unsubscribe from all these emails I get! lol

Yesterday, I bought this new Kahr MK9 Elite w/ Tridium night sights on Gunbroker.com.

I was at my range the other day and they had the standard MK9 model for sale.
Yes, it's heavy but has a great quality feel in the hand. A solid quality feel.
I love it's small size.
It's about a half inch shorter than my Sig P365.

Looking forward to firing it.

Also in the market for a full black Kahr P380 w/ night sights. I know a small point and fire pistol doesn't need night sights but I love options on my vehicles and pistols.
It might take a while before the P380 I want is in stock.

This may be polarizing question, but I am genuinely curious so here it goes: What is the best consumer 1911 to buy? I have heard many different opinions (and I expect no less here haha).

I have wanted to purchase a 1911 for sometime. I have fired a 1943 GI US Military issued 1911 and loved it. Obviously, anything military grade would be worth purchasing. Those aren't readily available.

I have looked into 1911s through Rock Island Armory, Springfield Armory, Colt, and Metro Arms. I don't really want to spend more than $1,000 (less is preferred). I am ready for all the opinions!

I have a 1911 fetish.lol

You can see my newest one in post #730 above,it's a Springfield 4" with fiber optic front sight. I also Have a Springfield EMP 3" which I've had for over 10 years now and absolutely love! These are going to be carry and range guns along with my Shield and new P365 XL which is coming in Monday. :D

I have a Kimber 5" that I bought back in January that's strictly a target gun,it came with a Vortex Venom red dot. This gun is my favorite range gun and I bring it every time we go. Both Kimber and Springfield have great customer service and QC.

I've also owned a few S&W 1911's which were ok,not bad but not great except for the Performance Center 1911. That one there was a great gun and I'm still kicking myself for selling it! :headbang: I've never owned a Colt but heard the QC has gone downhill over the years so if you're going to buy one I'd look at the older ones.

What are you going to use it for? Carry, range or both? Personally I say you can't go wrong with either a Kimber or Springfield,I love mine and have no regrets buying either. I was going to buy a Rock Island then all this buying spree took off and they are sold out everywhere so I got another SA instead. I know Tom (@SubVet) just picked up a Kimber Micro and he really likes that too.

Once you decide take a look at www.gun.deals and just enter the upc or manufacturers number in the upper right search bar and it will show you every online dealer who has it in stock and the price. You should be able to get a good Springfield 1911 for $700-$800 and Kimber from $800-$1,000. The Kimber KHX is a really nice 1911 and will probably be my next one.

You can click the drop down on Kimber to see what calibers the models come in.

Added to the collection another Kahr Arms pistol to go along with the MK9 being delivered maybe Saturday.
A very nice and small 4.9" length P380 I bought for a no sales tax and shipping cost$499 ( no night sights) from a dealer in TN. A tough find new.
Not bad for these times when prices even for used P 380's are going for in the $400+ on gunbroker.I'm not a fan of buying used unless I know the seller.

I really wish Glock would make some of these micro pocket guns like the P380 and MK9. Even the size of my Sig P365.

I'm done.....for quite a while.

Nice to see I'm not the only one out of control lately. lol Which store in TN did you buy it from, was it Smoky Mountain Guns? I buy from them often and they usually have the best price and they have great CS! I'm getting my Sig P365 XL from them which will be at my dealer today,it's out for delivery now. I bought it last Thursday and they shipped it out Friday.

Glock does have a newer one out that's close to the size of the Sig and the Shield but I can't remember what number they call it. I checked it out last summer for comparison when I was about to buy my Shield. I just do not like their guns! They never feel right in my hands so I'm done trying to convince myself I need a Glock.

Ha! You're about as done as I am.
