You're right some places are really price gouging right now. I saw the daily email from Palmetto State Armory the other day and they had 1 case of CCI Blazer 115 gr for $309.99! :curse: Then add tax and shipping and you're around .35 a round. I bought a case from them 6 months ago with free shipping for $160.00. I know the manufacturers have had small increases but not 50%. I was really surprised to see so many of the P365 XL's in stock and at a reasonable price. Not a good thing for me when I'm bored and have my credit card near by.?

Did you check www.gun.deals to see if you could find it in stock there?

Funny you should mention Palmette. I was in Columbia which is around 2 hours from me yesterday. so I figured I'd stop in. I thought the place would be bigger. Very low on pistols and ammo. Only 9mm I saw was $15.99 for Blazer 9mm 115gr which was high.
I took the Ranger. .Great highway and around town riding truck.

I checked all over and I just bought a full stainless steel MK9 from Bud's. Yes, it's heavy but I'm more concerned with the size. It's actually a bit shorter in length than the PM9. About the same cost as what places want for a PM9.

I didn't want a larger gun so I purchased the P365..However I am loving my Kimber Micro 9 as well. I probably should sell one of my guns for a much smaller pocket carry. The IWB Kydex is not comfortable.
Thanks for the comparison link! I only carried IWB for a short time and the holster that was the most comfortable was the Crossbreed Super Tuck and It takes a week or two to break in. I have a friend who still uses this and carries all the time with it even at work (he's a carpenter) and swears it's the best holster he's ever worn. I just don't like IWB,I can never get comfortable and something's always jabbing me in the ribs (gun or holster shell) while I'm sitting.

I love my Alien Gear Clock OWB holster,it's still the most comfortable one I've ever worn. The have a ShapeShift Carry Pack which gives you both an IWB and OWB holster with a few different mounts. The IWB looks exactly like the Crossbreed one but it's not leather it's a coolvent neoprene which is the similar the the OWB I have. Super comfortable!

BTW....STOP selling your guns! lol :stop: You'll be sorry one day you did. I love my M&P 15-22. Brought it out Saturday and zeroed in a old scope I had and put 150 rounds through it. Cost me about $4.50.:p

Ha....Just put a bid on https://www.gunbroker.com/item/867111179 I'm not one who likes to carry IWb for the same reasons you indicated. Put a bid in on a used Kahr PM9 with six mags for $360..so far..Buy it now is $399 Still a good price. My brother just bought a new Kahr MK9 in stainless upper and lower. I am bidding on the Polymer version. Im not selling the SIG or the Shield. but with Summer coming up I want an easy light pocket carry. The Kahr seems lighter in the polymer version. I think buying that Kahr in stainless is probably as heavy as the SIG.

PM + 7 mags is easily worth 350c I let my brother do the research because he is way more thorough than I when it comes to researching. He bought the stainless model. I'm ok with Polymer. Definitely does more research than I. I trust his judgement except when it comes to 380s. I don't eant one. All my guns will be in 9mm. If the MP 15 was 9mm instead of .223 I would like it.....But I have been able to find cheap .223 ammo. I have 1000 rounds of .223. Send me your address. I have

Just a thought and I'll probably get crucified for it but if you want a nice light pocket gun why not a 22? I know it's not the ideal round but it's lightweight and it's going to do the job as long as you do yours with proper shot placement . Almost every 9mm pocket gun is going to have some weight because of the 9mm round. The gun is light but once you add a loaded mag you're adding a lot the weight now.

I don't pocket carry but I would not think twice about carrying a small 22 like the new Ruger LCP 22. You can carry 10 + 1 and ammo is still cheap and available and a 22 will scramble around once inside someone like a pinball. It's not going to stop someone all cranked out but for a backup carry I would 100% carry this. Once you stop laughing check out the video below.

BTW....The last line you wrote above got cut out.

I have the 22 conversion for the P938. Got it free when I bought it. The 9mm slide is about as heavy as the gun when it is configured for the 22. I carry it 22 style a lot. As Dave mentioned, 10 rounds placed well will stop most folks.? No recoil to speak of so tight grouping is easy.

My FIL has always said, and has reinforced it over the years, carrying a .22 is still better than carrying nothing. And like you mention, Dave, they can be very effective if you know what you're doing. I wouldn't have any problem carrying a .22 with hollow-points, especially with 10 rnds or more.

Just an FYI...I’ve killed a lot of wild hogs with a ruger 10/22. The worst results were with hollow points. Just passing through the skin, the hollow point expands and does not penetrate. I ultimately changed to thunderbolt solids. They will penetrate the skin of the neck, break the neck and exit the other side.

Huh, and here I thought you'd have better luck with HPs penetrating more with a rifle. Are they maybe expanding too quickly with the higher muzzle velocity of the 10/22? I've never done much research on .22 HPs and how well (or not) they penetrate/expand - I carry .45 normally. The CCI Stinger mentioned in the video Dave posted is supposed to have good performance for what it is (or so I read years ago). Good info...thanks, Doc.

I've read many articles and watched videos on not using HP's in the 32 and even a 380 for lack of penetration. Especially in winter in a cold climate with coats and such.

Just coming across this thread now. The wife and I have finally pulled the, well, uh trigger. We both picked up our first handguns. Well first for any gun for either of us. After some research we went to a gun shop that a coworker works part time at. We knew we wanted 9mm and compacts. CCW as well but can’t apply until our state “allows” us.

Wife went with a Sig 365 XL and I with a G48 with factory tritium sights.

Stinger had the worst penetration with the penta polnt.
The first hog I killed was 30 lb shoat..on the run I fired all 10 rounds. He ran behind a bush and I reloaded, when I went around to the other side he stood up, I was now 10 ft away and I put one in his eye. Now the reason he layed down was because one of the rounds broke his right rear leg. Upon cleaning the hog, there were 5 destroyed penta points under the skin of the neck, none touched the spine.
after that I switched to thunderbolts and never had a problem after that.
Heavier bullet, weight vs velocity..

I know there's always potential for those smaller rounds to not be effective...even 9mm/.38, especially like Joe mentioned about winter and heavier clothing. Not to mention someone who's hopped up on drugs and adrenaline. That's why I carry a .45...at least the SOB will KNOW he's been shot.
