I had the feeling you were going to get it sooner than later. :like: For an AR you're better off getting a good scope (not a cheap one) because once you start going out past 100 yards it makes a huge difference. I didn't spend crazy money but mine was $250.00 and it was on sale as they were discontinuing it for a new model. It's this Nikon here.

I know you're probably thinking I won't shoot out past 100 yards and I thought that too. But after you shoot it for a while 100 yards gets boring. It's a challenge shooting out further because you then have to compensate for a lot of things like wind and bullet drop so it's fun to dial it in and hit a steel target 400+ yards out.

I wouldn't give up on the 22 yet. lol I always bring mine even when I have my 223 with me. Especially now with the price of ammo it gets expensive after a couple of mags with 223. If you need some extra mags these are good and have free shipping now if you buy 10.
What do you think about this combo? https://www.amazon.com/Scope-Combo-...unts&qid=1587596097&s=hunting-fishing&sr=1-20

Personally I'm not a big fan of those combo packages. Just curious why do you want all that stuff on your AR? It's not going to be for home defense so having the extra bulk and weight of a laser and red dot are useless. I would just try the 22 scope on it first and you'll see what I mean. Zero it in a 50 yards first then bring it out to 100 (if you can) it's easier to make adjustments that way instead of 100 yards right off the bat. You'll then see how the clarity degrades too, you'll be fighting every shot just trying to get on target. I'm sure you remember when you first needed reading glasses. Your arm wasn't long enough anymore to see the menu anymore and when you first put on a pair it was like damn I can see. lol :giggle:

I guess it all depends how much you end up using it too. I love shooting mine and even more so long distance. Someday I want to get an even better scope because the clarity is so much better. I never realized this until I was with someone who I occasionally go shooting with and he brought one of his better scopes. It's a Leopold and it was about $1,000 but it's a huge difference even to mine which is very clear. Maybe someone at your range has one you could at least look through, then you'd be able to see the difference first hand.

Bottom line I would shoot it a few times with the scope you have and if you really like the AR (which I'm sure you will) get a better scope. Buy once...cry once. :curse::crying:

Thanks for that. If I'm going to use the gun for home defense which is not likely I put a light and a laser on it anyway. The Red Dot that comes with it is not bad CT 103 I think it is. I put the scope back on the 22 for now. The only thing I ordered for it so far AR quad rails for the front. I may want to put a laser black / flashlight on the rail. I'm going to use this for 25 yards for now since I don't have a 50-yard range. I'll have to drive up to the outdoor range to really enjoy it.. Want to get used to shooting it as is

Today has been boring....and I get in trouble when I am bored. The weather here sux...windy and raining, can't work on one of my bikes cuz I am waiting on parts, put 500 rds on LaserHit and my repaired shoulder is hurting, nothing on TV. Sooooo I have ordered the Alien Gear Cloak Mod OWB for my P365 and looking at other weapon related stuff to order (getting my list up now). Even wanting some E-Track stuff for my M/C trailer. The wife is looking at me like if I order one more thing, she will beat me about the head and shoulders! Also looking to order some more stuff for the Ranger. Told her that I was even debating on Day Drinking!!

Damn I hate this weather!!!

I'm down with that! :beer:

I can empathize - I'm technically teleworking, but work is slow right now, so not much I can do from home. Some training, but damn, that's boring. And that's when I start to get into the trouble you describe. The wife told me the other night, "Stop buying shit!" Oops. Yah, then I talked her into letting me buy a pressure washer :giggle::clap:

That's what happened to me last weekend. I was bored and started looking through all my bookmarks at a few guns I want to get. Next thing you know I've got another 22 coming in any day now. lol

I almost bought another Kimber but I'm waiting a little longer to see how work goes. I'm still getting calls for jobs and been really busy lately so I'm sure it will end up at it's new address before to long. You still need to sneak in that blue Ruger MKIV . :bandit:

My next one is actually going to be that Rock Island .45. I put the bug in my wife's ear a month or so back (and didn't get beat about the head and shoulders for mentioning it), but I'll probably still get the eye roll. I have a feeling that blue Ruger will only be a wishlist item for now...still need to get the leveling kit and tires for my truck.

I just saw this scope/mount combo in the daily email I get from PSA. Vortex makes a really good scope and has an unconditional lifetime guarantee. This one is made in China where their higher end scopes are made in the USA but the reviews are good and you can't beat the price. I think this has been the price for a while now so even though they always say sale ends it usually doesn't.

The allocation for new weapons will start after I get the Mossberg 590 that she was promised a couple of months ago. It is out of stock or more than I am willing to pay. I am getting a new helmet next month (after this damn quarantine is over with) that is $220.

I am also spending money fixing my 1990 Goldwing to sell it (doing it myself). Thought I was just about done and now found the clutch slave cylinder is leaking. That is between $50 - $150 depending on what I will have to replace. Once sold, that is weapons/Ranger money.

Y'all just keep posting all your stuff and I will keep making my wish list longer:rockon:

I have the same problem as you and Bryan, when I get bored my wallet get smaller. lol I really want another Kimber but don't want to drop another 1K right now so I have the M&P 22 compact on its way. My girlfriend likes shooting those a lot and now with a suppressor it's a lot more fun. That's the site I need to stay away from! You think 1911's are addicting, suppressors are just as bad. :curse:

We don't qualify (or shouldn't)...and I'm ok with that; there are people who actually NEED that money - ok, end of rant before it gets too political :lipssealed::LOL:

I was planning the leveling kit for this summer, but with the way things are going, it may be fall.?

So I was looking through my saved Youtube videos and found this one below. One of my customers has this and he told me he bought it "Just because it's so F'ing cool"! It a dual barrel 12 Gauge and there's a selector switch with at the top so you can have it either feed from one side or the other or have it alternate between the two. So you can put buck in one tube and slugs into the other. lol Also has a built in laser and light. I wish I knew that the price came down because when he bought his it was $1,200.00 and now they're down to the mid $700's but out of stock everywhere! Just thought I'd give you something else for your "wish list". ?

From 25 - 50 yards the red dot will be fine. Even at 100 it should be ok if it's a good one. I have a Sig Romeo 5 red dot on my CZ Scorpion and I can hit steel at 100 yards easy. My M&P 15-22 came with a red dot and it's not that good past 50 yards.

It would be better to add the accessories like you're doing on the side because they're easy to take off rather than all together like those 2 scopes. It does get heavy if your holding it and shooting with all that stuff on there. I mostly bench shoot my AR rifle, especially when we're shooting long distance. I haven't been to a real gun range in over 10 years so I keep forgetting that most don't have a 100+ yard range.

Family Firearms has been great from order to arrival is less than 5 days and the best prices. Win Win.. I paid $569 for the MP_15 with a CT Red Dot.

There is a long range here about 22 miles away, That's why I bought the .223 and sold the 22 for $250 Wasn't expecting that much. Pay them $90 bucks and they give you a key to go when ever you want with no further charges and no range master.

. I would say that's a great deal especially because I'm at the Range at least 2X a week I have all my mags loaded (have six for each gun) which pretty much uses my time. I don't use the Magula to reload my mags at the range. I shoot all the mags then leave. Only going 3-7 yd If I can get good grouping at 3-7 yards I will be very happy. I don't use the lasers at the range except to adjust them, I shoot 10 feet pretty good That's 3 yards right there
