So I went to a gun insurance seminar with US Law Shield. It was kind of interesting. Learned a few things.
One of which was gun brand window decals on trucks and cars is not a good idea. The decal will cause a lot more of a chance of a break in.
My M&P decal is off for a SIG decal I just got today from Ebay but no install..

Also, I went with USCCA for coverage over US Law Shield.

I see why they say this but any responsible gun owner will never leave his firearm unattended in their vehicle. Personally I think it's more of a deterrent because who is really going to want to mess with someones vehicle knowing they have a gun:question:

Most states have a Stand your ground law unless you're in a nanny state like MA where the victim has more rights than the defender. I have this hanging by my front door,it's the only warning they get. :)

The weapon may not be in the vehicle but a break in may be done to find out.

Even with a good shoot, you still will be sued and lawyers cost a lot. One mistake with a gun can bankrupt someone,

I'm not disagreeing what you one bit, it's just there are so many different laws for every state. :) I know here they're a lot more tolorant than say MA or CA. I know 3 local cops and one Phoenix cop very well and we've discussed this several times, mostly me bringing it up to make sure they all coincide with each other. All have said you have the right to defend yourself and your property and you will not be charged as long as they're on your property, you didn't shoot them in the back and/or your life was in danger. I've even had one back in MA tell me make sure you shoot to kill then they can't testify.

I've honestly have never heard of a perp suing a homeowner for a justifiable shooting out here. I'm sure it happens but not as common as back in MA where I've seen it happen many, many times. I hope and pray I never have to be in that situation but I'm willing to take that chance if ever needed. Heck I've been carrying for 35 years and have never even come close to ever needing to which is fine by me. But the worlds a scarier place now than it was then. Also as the old saying goes:;)

No stand your ground in SC. We have the Castle Doctrine. I'd rather have the stand your ground.

Yup, I can legally carry a gun anywhere in my vehicle as long as it’s in a snap holster or a zippered pouch..

Even having those above a good lawyer is still going to put you through the ringer and (like you said earlier) cost you a butt load of money.

No restrictions with CWP in vehicle here in SC.
No CWP and the pistol has to be in glove box or console compartment.
In NC, the pistol has to be in an open area like the console but not on dash.

I'm On the Border in SC so it was a pain in the ass taking it in and out of the compartment when going over state lines. Now with the carry I don't have to worry about it

That's why I picked up some insurance coverage against that. Kind of a waste of money but you never know.

These laws are all stupid IMO...why is it that in my state I can carry open without a permit but have to permit to conceal? Sounds bass ackwards either way...and add to stupid...why in EU are suppressors unregulated but we are...while their FA are highly regulated and we're not so much (for now)?

That's how it was for me too back in MA. I was on the border of CT and had a lot of jobs over there and on weekends when I was out doing estimates I would get to CT and have to hide mine in the truck. It's just habit because I'm always carrying and I'd forget in the mornings and have it on me but I did get a CT CCW. They really need a national CCW,this whole permit thing is BS anyway.

The whole NFA should be done away with! It's just a money grab and a deterrent because of the tax stamp and the long wait. I swear there's one 400lb donut eating slob sitting there taking one application a day for the NFA items. Why not just have it like a gun purchase? You have a CCW so you've already been processed through the system and just call in the serial number to the BATF and get approved instantly. Email a temporary tax stamp until the original is processed and mailed out.:headbang:
