Another one of those oh shit moments when you knew you should've bought it but you didn't.20 years ago, there was a 556 upper belt fed upper assembly on the market...I came very close to buying it...$1200...no idea how much if it's even available today let along what it cost now...

So I thanked him and asked my neighbor who the heck is this guy? Says he's a big car dealer and just sold a few cars over in Europe for over 20 million, owns his own island out in Michigan so obviously $18K is a drop in the bucket for him. I did keep his card just in case we ever hit the Lotto. lolVolmer HK belt fed 21s ..were $20,000 in1989..funny, you could buy a Rock Island M-60 for $4800.00..Another one of those oh shit moments when you knew you should've bought it but you didn't.
When we were at Mecum last year my neighbor introduced to to this guy and we got talking about guns. Turns out he owns just about everything you can imagine 50 cals, machine guns and a few artillery guns he trailers to the Big sandy Shoot here in AZ. He hands me his card and says if you ever want a machine gun I can help you get one (legally) it's a good time to buy because some of the older guys are getting rid of them and I can get you a decent one for around $18K.So I thanked him and asked my neighbor who the heck is this guy? The more I read about these RIA's I'm really starting to like them. I sold all my .45 pistols before moving out here as my wrist was really bad. It was mostly from all the repetitious work I was doing when we were doing production painting with all the contractors I worked for back east. Now that I don't do that anymore it actually feels a lot better so I'm going to pick one up in the near future. I'm looking at this one and it's reasonable at $515.00 for a 1911 with fiber optic front sights.Volmer HK belt fed 21s ..were $20,000 in1989..funny, you could buy a Rock Island M-60 for $4800.00..

Damn, Dave! You and I are thinking alike. That's the very .45 I've been eye-balling since seeing the RIA post a few pages back. I've wanted a 1911 for years (or decades now) and this is the one I think I've decided on. It'll just mean putting off the leveling kit and tires a little longer...maybe.The more I read about these RIA's I'm really starting to like them.
