Hello. Just noticed my windshield doesn’t have a gasket or weatherstripping surrounding it.

Noticed because my wife’s car has one so I thought all vehicles do.

Attached is a picture of my windshield.

Hi TZ,

Yep...by design....it is "glued" in no rubber gasket....

Best,
Phil

Normal, none of the rangers have them.

Does look a little unfinished to me, and I am kind of looking at seals to slap in or on there. Merely for appearance reasons.

During Hurricane Ivan it rained on my truck hard and no leaks so whatever they do works!
I wonder if a gasket would help with wind noise, which is not bad by any means but IMO could be a smidge quieter.
But, whew, glad to know I’m not missing a seal.

I just got a recall for a windshield seal. They want to take mine out and replace it. Something about it being faulty from factory. But if you have a rock chip or a crack they cannot guarantee that the windshield won’t break and if it does you need to go through insurance to fix it. I said I’d wait till after winter. Hopefully nothing bad happens.

It's an excellent place to catch small leaves and tree debris. I've been cleaning mine out for a couple of years.

There's a recall for our(2022 model) rangers, which may or may not help in wind noise.

Personally, I'm not in a hurry to drop my truck off for a few days and have some shop cut the glass out to reseal.

That said, you can find seals and weather stripping on amazon for cheap.

Mine is a 2022 and it’s very never been told of any recall. I did just buy it though. Tomorrow I am taking it in for an expensive window tint, I would hope I don’t have to get the windshield removed and risk having the tint damaged. ?
