Over the weekend I installed the AFE charge pipes and a S&B CAI on my 2022 Tremor. I've been running the Livernois 91-93 tune for over a year and was looking for a bit more...

Observations:
  • Yep, everyone was right - that new cold side pipe was a real b!tch to get on. I was trying to be lazy by not loosening the IC, but you really need to do that.
  • Just a smidge noisier than stock, definitely livable. My wife isn't going to notice.
  • I can't tell if full-out acceleration is any better, but it sure seems more sure of itself off the line. Noticeably less lag.
  • Couldn't really feel the changes until after several hours of driving. Took a 5 hour highway trip and averaged 25 mpg.
Next up: an SPD downpipe. After that, sound deadening (ha, not from the mods but for wind/road noise).

The down pipe will help, but ONLY if you increase the exhaust pipe size ahead of the muffler. It is another case of the individual parts adding up to more than just one part.

That’s what some people say, but in another recent thread someone did a DP with 2.5 inch exhaust and got a big difference. Plus I called SPD and they said it wasn’t necessary because the exhaust gasses start cooling and contracting as soon as they leave the turbo.

I did the CVF down pipe with a 3" flow FX cat back and S&B intake all the same week, the acceleration without a tune is drastically improved. (you can get on the top down pipe bolt with a ratchet and extensions)

I took maybe an hour, slow incase I needed to put the oem one back. If I had to do it again I would have put the downstream o2 sensor restrictor in first, if you get an angled one it wont turn in the down pipe when it is bolted in
