How’s your Truck handle towing your pontoon, and in how does it do in/out of the boat ramp? We looked at some pontoons yesterday, and they are definitely lighter than our camper, but look way bigger in size, and it’s a bit concerning to me.

Thanks again

They are bigger! But absolutely no problem on the boat ramp. A few times I’ve forgotten to put in 4 wheel drive and it was still no problem. It’s easy to back down the ramps that I use, they either have paint lines or separation lines and I just watch the tires to the lines. Towing is no problem at all, it just sucks the gas mileage down if you want to run above 65. I have a friend that has a full size pickup….one of the “c” words. He gets around nine mpg pulling his similar size pontoon. So I don’t feel to bad that mine drops so much. Ball drop is about 3 to 4” and I may add bags to the suspension this fall to lift her back up.

That’s definitely good to hear, we might just go with the 22ft pontoon. I did add the Ford Performance Tuner about a year ago, and it upped my mpg towing and during normal driving.

Our 5500lbs trailer got us 9-10mpg with out it, now we are between 11-13 towing (65mph max). It’s also has a lot more pick up on the on ramps, with better shift points.

It also has upped my around town milage from 20ish to 23ish. My highway milage (unloaded) is 25-26 at about 70.
