Anyone know a way to get this piece glued back down? I've tried double sided tape and I don't want to use superglue because I've heard it doesn't play nice with paint.

Not sure if this is what Phil was talking about, but this 3M tape will do the job. I have used it for years and it holds like nothing else. About as good as the adhesive tape used on factory stick on emblems etc. Clean the letter and apply it and trim off the excess with VERY sharp scissors, clean the tailgate and press down with firm pressure.

Done.
