Here is mine "helping" me work from home during the floods early this year. My wife picked her as a rescue kitten but it was me she attached herself to. Now it's like having a small dog, follows me everywhere, plays run and fetch in the back yard ( when in the mood- she is a cat after all) "helps" with Ranger maintenance, wakes me up in the morning to go to work etc.
Our cat was also a rescue kitten, friend of my wife takes in abandoned kittens, we have the medical exam and it was in bad shape, not expected to live. Now it is unequivocally the best cat we've ever owned , at 1st it didn't kill things it caught but now it kills and eats birds, snakes, mice, chipmunks and insects. It's interesting because it seems to understand our property borders and attempts to defend it. The only negative is that it wants to continually sit on my lap and gets ticked off when I don't allow it.
