Those ports have amperage/wattage ratings. Just because a plug fits doesn't mean it is within the electrical specs of the port. Phones and other devices have been steadily increasing the CPU capabilities along with their power requirements.

It's best to read Device power requirements carefully before simply inserting the device into a USB or 12V electrical port.

I've seen this current overdraw situation occur with USB ports on desktop and laptop computers.
I really don't think it was too much draw - I think the adapter just shorted out intermittently which is what blew the fuses. Both my phone and my friends phone have been plugged into these ports quite a bit with no issues.

With that said, it is a good reminder to check specs of a port before plugging in.

I live out in the middle of nowhere so its a daily battle, and have used everything, the 5 gal bucket with the spinning bottle that drop them into water works, this year I have also used the Tomcat green blocks and they do work too they will pick them up and take them back to the nest, and something new I have just tried mixing cornbread mix and baking soda equal amounts and that builds up gas they cant expel fast enough and they die within a foot or two of the dish!
after watching a video of a farmer and some other city folk doing that I used A.I to see if it was a myth LOL
"can be considered inhumane" inhumane? LOL so is the damage caused by them, I would rather have crying dead rats all over than one chewed wire, I think A.I leans left?
I have a Huge Blue and Gold Macaw and a rat got into his cage because of seed and food in there, LOL little Rat Bastard wont do that again, 5 gal bucket 5, Tomcat lots, and cornbread Tons, Scooby 3, Cisco 1 I am keeping track hahaha
I use the green blocks and a big sticky trap on the floor on the back seat floor. I caught two with the sticky. I had a block there also and they ate 3/4 of the block…
I left the window open one night that’s how they got in there..no more mice.
