I had this done along with the upper GI on same trip. I think they used same camera, had a chitty taste in my mouth after. ???j/k on taste.

I get both done also, the DIY plumber in me believes they could snake it all the way through and save at least one of my holes...

Which hole would you start with? One might be less than sanitary. But then it still has to be pulled out. Like a ripcord.

I was hoping to swallow it, then when it comes out the bottom they just cut the cord and pull it on through , "ripcord" sounds horrible...

I had both ends done last time and all I had in my mouth was the taste of Vaseline. Guess they started at the top and had it all lubed up to head to the backside.

Maybe you can get them to put in a Damper while they are back there.

There IS a camera you can swallow for endoscopy. No strings (or wires) attached.

That's mostly for lower GI and IF they see anything suspicious, they schedule you back for the camera anyway...

ALL JOKES ASIDE, if you haven't had this done , for whatever reason , embarrassment , or can't find time , get over it and have Doc set one up ... make them do upper also ,they will try and get out of that if you have no symptoms (food getting stuck , reflux and such) so, have some symptoms "sometimes Doc" ... it did take all damn day and the night before , and , of course my nurse was hot and young and got to see me at my shriveled up worst... Propofol is the most instant thing ever , you just turn off , and I woke up fully dressed , shoes and all , damn , I guess she had to slide me undies on ...
