Well the Easyguard PKE system has one wire for a door status trigger. Because I could not find that one wire, I hooked the Fortin EVO all back up just to use one wire. One day I will find that one wire that triggers negatively when the door is open, then I can remove the Fortin. The system works flawlessly when everything is connected properly. I am very happy with this. I probabl;y spent 100 hours researching how to do this planning the install and having a successful outcome. There is one other successful install on you tube "Memo Makes", who installs an Easyguard EC004on a 2019 Ranger. The video doesn't do a good job of showing the proper connections. The video also talks about defeating the PATS security system. If you use an alarm immobilizer and one of your keys that will bypass the PATS and allow the vehicle to start. That video along with a couple of others helped me out greatly. But once you get under the steeering wheel and test the wires with a voltmeter, not a test light then you will start grasping the concept.
There are some other systems out there Gallo Tech and Advanced keys that purport to be american made. Those systems will run you about 600.00 before installation, if you can find somebody who is willing to install it. That was the problem I had, no installer within 60 miles and I am near Chicago. I didn't want to spend 600.00, install myself and screw it up. However, 64.00 on amazon I can afford to screw it up.
The other issue I found with the more expensive systems is that they used two modules, one for the PKE to open the doors and another module to use Push to Start. These easy guard systems use one module. I hooked up a positive and negative, igition 1 and 2, starter, tach and accesory under the staeering wheel, so thats seven wires tapped into the ignition switch wiring. Brake wire tapped into at the brake pedal, door status I'm currently using a Fortin EVO all, horn to wire in harness at fuse box, door lock, + & -, door unlock + & - also connected to the Fortin since it is being used. Otherwise I found the lock and unlock triggers coming from the front door.
. Thats it the other wires were clippred and tossed.
