Navigation Added / Backlit Shifter

I finally replaced my APIM to add Navigation. Super easy. I was on the fence for a long time... and about a month ago bought a 2020 APIM from a reseller on EBAY for a great price. I know, I know....CARPLAY. Well I am not a fan, that stupid NAVIGATE when in Motion lockout or whatever it is called drives me crazy!

While I was at it I wired up an AIRHORN.

AND threw a LED under this

Bezel just begging to be backlit

BLUE LED, wrapped in tape, cut the legs off and put a piece of black heatshrink over it.

I used a 2k resistor for the voltage drop, I didn't want it too bright.

Which lays nicely in the little track. A dab of superglue holds in in place.

Where did you tie in the light for the shifter? Would like to do that too. Looks good.

My lightbar button/air horn/ lights have power that runs from a key-on fuse in the drivers fuse block panel. I used a fusetap connector.

The factory system will lock you out for destinations while moving above a certain speed as well. Unless you use the voice feature.

Same as CarPlay/AA.

Finished up the AIRHORN install

Just in front of the core support at the top. There is just enough room there. And it is LOUD!!!

You can see the chrome trumpet at the top.

Relay/Fuse @ the battery and 1 wire back to my horn switch that I installed yesterday.

Horn is a less than $30 unit from Amazon that was highly rated. 118 db according to this video
