Recently got new wheels - Black Rhino Chambers (18x9.5 12mm 6x139.7) - and would like to get some new lug nuts but unsure of all of the compatibilities. I understand that I need something to fit the threads (M12 - 1.5) but unsure if, because I changed the wheel, the conical-type still applies?

I had a friend help me with the wheels, and he mentioned that the OEM lug nuts on this wheel are a bit short. While we got them on pretty easily, he said it might be easier with a different type of lug nut that was maybe skinnier and longer.

I looked at this thread for recommendations and found these - any recommendations that will fit my wheel?:

  • Small Diameter Spline Acorn Lug Nuts - 3/4" & 13/16" Dual Hex Key - 12mm x 1.50 Thread Size - Black Finish - Set of 24 (K6CS-12150BGR)
    • $45 (24 lug nuts) from Gorilla Automotive
  • Black Bulge Cone Seat Style Lug Nut Set (M12 x 1.5 Thread Size) – Set of 4 Lug Nuts
    • $130 (6 x 4 sets) from McGard
  • Lug Nut Guys?
  • 2019-2024 Ford Ranger & Bronco Faction Fab M12x1.5 Black Spline-Style Lug Nut Kit
    • $65 (25 lug nuts) from Stage 3 Motorsports

I would rather go for quality and keep them a long time rather than replace them often, so I'm not opposed to getting a more expensive set.

If longer lug nuts are a must, I’d start with a call to Black Rhino first - the chamfer on their wheels and lugs might be unique to their design.

Not trying to be a smart Alec but I gotta ask…
A “bit short” while starting them with your fingers?

Maybe just put the lug nut in the socket (instantly longer).

No problem, but yes I was using a socket to start them before running them in. But the fitment of the socket + OEM lugs + new wheel was a bit tight (although it did fit), so I wasn't sure if it's bad or good.
