Some time ago I began getting ADs from Chicago public college OVERLAPPING the posts while trying to read or post.
They won't go away and they have no X-outs. Sometimes they will momentarily disappear if I refresh the screen.
Anybody else getting this? What can be done to stop it?

Download the Brave browser and never see the ads again.

I understand the need to be able to pay for the website by placing ads here and there but when they make the usage of the site hard, total warfare is required. I've even put a Pi-hole on my router at home, I haven't seen an ad I didn't specifically allow anywhere in better than a year.

Yup.. watching a wonderful one on Tampax (no lie) right now… not sure the ad generator gets the demographics concept… but there is a tiny x to close, but then another opens immediately.

Until you get to a site where they want you to turn it off.

Try reading something from forbes.com

Sure, you'll probably say you won't go to the site then.

But there are some news articles I'd like to read.

It's so annoying either way.

Luckily they are popping up on the lower right corner of my screen on this forum, so no bother. I'm on another forum, and the damn things pop up right below the "alert bell" on the top right of my screen. Those are aggravating. Like Charlie above, I understand the need to help pay for the forum. But dayum, I wish they wouldn't be so intrusive.
