Instrument display replacement FYIO
I had a greasy finger/hand print on the "inside" of the main instrument display which indicates the odometer mileage readings. The salesman said initially it would take only 5 minutes to replace - wrong!. It will take 2-3 days because FMC will not allow this display cluster to be replaced without the vehicle in the shop with the true mileage on it. Only then, will the dealership has to immediately order a new display from FMC with the matching mileage programmed on the new replacement display. Reason - this prevents unscrupulous people from fudging on the odometer mileage readings by just ordering a new display.
BTW - The Wayne assembly plant person was probably eating fried chicken from the colonel that day.
