Hello all, new member here. Today I ordered a 2022 Tremor, Cactus Grey, Lariat 501A, trailer tow package. I plan on an ARE cap, Bedrug, and some other smaller changes. My question is: has anyone tried cutting holes IN the rear bumper for cube lights? Seems like a good spot? Enough room?

I looked for an "introduction" page, did not find one. I worked for Ford for 38.5 years and in amongst a number of F150's, this will be my 6th Ranger.

Subscribed. I’ve seen plenty of options for rear lights, but I don’t recall seeing a kit to place them in the stock bumper. Might not be any voids in there, as it seems to be a pretty compact unit….but I’m absolutely no expert and can’t even get down to take a look, lol. Just curious to see what comes up.

Btw, the introduction page is a sticky at the top of this forum. Here’s a link:

The bumper has room inside for the lights. This would be a completely custom fabricated operation. One would have to cut their own hole and make their own brackets and everything. The real trick would be to accomplish it without having to repaint the bumper.

There's plenty of room for lights in the stock bumper.

I went with an aftermarket unit to get lights + corner steps.

I believe Rigid makes some cool white LED rectangle lights and brackets for the rear bumper. They are not very tall but add a lot of light for backing up? Plug and play too. How long are you going to have to wait for your Tremor? 6-8 months?

Baja Designs S1s flush mount in the bumper would be ideal. Or even the S2 or Squadrons might fit.

No need for custom brackets or repainting. Buy the lights. Apply masking tape. Apply stencils. Cut carefully. Apply finish of your choice to edge of cut. Install flush mount lights. Wire them up.

Quite simple, really. Something I'll do when I get to rear lighting.

Once you graduate from the world of Ebay Chinesium lighting the options open up a bit.

Awesome guys...thanks for your help. I like the look of the Rigid. I will wire them up to one of the 6 switches. Another switch for the cap interior lights, and a third for a 12V accessory plug in the cap. Dealer says 8 - 10 weeks wait time for the truck. Wish me luck trying to co-ordinate the delivery of the cap and truck.

I'm gonna put my money on March 11th delivery date.

Sorry, just being real.

$100 more expensive here but might be an even better look in a rear bumper.

anyways, curious about your purpose of these lights now.
you say you'll be wring them to one of your six switches.

these arent being used for standard backing up are they?
are you planning on using them to shine back at people you think have too bright headlights? ?

Ranger Pride, you are correct, they will be used not only as a reverse light,(thinking here of my brother-in-laws driveway), but also as general lighting at the rear of the truck, hence my using a switch, not just reverse. For those pesky tailgaters, I have another option!!!

The Pipe Welded On The Bumper is apparently a very effective anti-tailgating device.
