I noticed the other day when putting my key into the ignition on the XLT that there is a larger gap between the actual ignition cylinder that you put the key into and the plastic surround. The cylinder is also kind of wobbly and seems loose. It almost appears that there should be a trim ring around it that is not there. Can someone confirm that i am not or that i am missing a trim ring around the ignition where the key slides into?

You are not missing one! They come that way - there's a post on here about someone making 3d printed options. Of note, the rubber piece on 2019 F-150's fits perfectly. Just don't ask how I came by mine..... Lol

I posted in the other thread that originally they were unfinished. All we did was a little light sanding and paint. They look great and you can do any color you want.

Yes, that is the way ford wanted us to rethink buying a car from them. ... all around the world! It is just unbelievable what kind of design mistakes they did. Bevor buying this ranger i thought ok it is just a ford, don‘t expect too much... but now when i realised how stupid they saving money in production OMG i think this was the last ford i own.

It seems like every morning i end up shoving the key between the ignition and the plastic. I wasn't thinking of getting a plastic ring there until this started happening so frequently.

I got mine from "Heavendesigns". Fit perfectly. Came in grey. I thought about painting it, but I like it as is. Looks good to me!
