Thanks for sharing. Don't get me wrong, the "not my job" reference wasn't that they left the tree standing; I'm all for not chopping down trees that we don't need to. Rather, it was for whatever idiot decided to lay a road down there in the first place. Surely, since the tree pre-dated development, and it was in the will that it had to remain standing, whoever was in charge of laying out the streets could have stopped for a second and gone "Hmmm, maybe we should move this street over a couple of metres..."
