elevate ts rail install tips

im installing these rails under my bak mx4, but i cant get the rails to sit flat, tried all sorts of shim combos but all suck. anyone got any good ideas?

i realize that, im talking about how they roll up and not seat flat. when you tighten them down the pull up on the outside

see the photos. i guess because of the crown on the bed, the rails want to twist up. they wont seat flat. looks like garbage.

Would like to know why Ford arched the bedrails. How do folks mount toppers ?

Here's what my RetraxPRO XR looks like. It's only down in the center. Rails are sturdy aluminum that have no flex.

id like to know that too! makes it a real pain.

Retrax XR uses a stand-off bolt on each clamp to give the rails a 2 degree outward slope and also support weight from T-slot attachments above.

i finally got it. had to remove the seal off the track and use the super thin one. now they lay flat (for the most part). im also glad i got long tracks and just trimmed them down. looks cleaner this way i think.
not sure what to do about the tailgate though.

Update: june 11.
finally has time to put the rails on and it was a pain in the arse for sure.I tried different ways and did the same as wolfman I did end up using the clamps from the MX4 as they seemed to work better.

@Wolfman00 or @NoTacos have either of you mounted the elevate rack to the rails? I still need to get my rails installed between my revolver x4s but I am wondering how your installs have held up to any cargo loads. I bought the rails specific to the ranger and they still fit crappy because of the arched bedrails. Hoping I can get mine to look like yours.
