Drivetrain malfunction

Driving recently and suddenly my 2019 lariat Ranger felt sluggish and was clunking into gear, as well as the wrong gears. I took it home. Next morning went to drive it to the dealership and everything seemed fine. Anyone have this happen to them?
The dash gave a warning about the pre-collision assist not functioning as well

I never got this, but my transmission doesn’t work well, sometimes it when I turn on the cruise control or floor it or even go half way on the throttle it downshifts and it’s far from smooth.

It got drunk! Seriously, computers have error registers preset to some specific point. Once the computer can't figure out what to do, it places a bit in the error register(s). Once the threshold is exceeded, they reboot or just lock up. In a vehicle-based computer, they typically go into limp home mode. Depending on the specific error, Shutting down the engine, and restarting will reset the register. However.... In some cases, all sorts of bad things happen, like the MIL lighting up, switching to limp home mode, poor shifting (or none!), etc. Those have to have the register reset through the OBD port.

Is there a standard elapsed time once shutting off the truck that will reset the computer? Or would disconnect the battery be the faster option?

Disconnecting the battery may reset somethings, like the fuzzy logic in the engine/transmission controller. But an off and restart gets most of the non-fatal codes. Fatal codes turn on the MIL.
