Cold start

Hi there all,when I first start my 2017 ranger it’s a bit rattley when cold when it’s up to warm temperature it stops rattling,any 1 no what is the problem,thanks in advance

How many miles/km?
How bad is it? Like a vibration or my truck is going to fall apart.

50k miles,it’s not as bad as it’s going to fall to bits lol ?

Hi Tony,

Since it is a diesel we Yanks have no idea as our Rangers are Petrol.... It does seem to be characteristic of a diesel...Do you get any white smoke when it cold starts? That might be a hint. Do you know if the motor has glow plugs? If it does it may indicate glow plugs are inoperative.

Sorry...just do not know much about the Ranger Diesel...
