Maybe, maybe not. Sadly our flag has become very much a political statement. To the point that I'm hesitate to even fly mine on historically typical flag flying holiday's. Used to never miss flying it on certain days. Always took it very seriously. Lately I've not put it up at all. Never dreamed our beautiful flag would become politicized. Sucks. Sucks royally.

that's why I went from a 15 foot flag pole to a 30 footer. and on top of that it's a blue/red line flag with the Gadsden flag under it F the haters wave it high and proud

My kid bought me two of these aluminum decals for my birthday. Went to look to see where I could put them on the truck but most of the areas people put decals on looked a bit too curved for these to want attach. Haven’t tried to install them yet. I may end up putting one of these on the rear window if I can find a good, relatively flat spots on the truck body. Any thoughts? Will these cause any issue to windows or paint for that matter? I know some have said the paint is a bit fragile on these trucks.

One or both would look great on the rear window(s), say, the lower left (or right) corner...

That’s what I had thought and have heard it both ways. There will always be someone to correct you. I know upside down is a sign of distress. Guess the best way to be to go with however the military is doing it now (assuming they still use the American flag on their vehicles). I know when I was getting out, the military was changing rather quickly and becoming rather pc.

I was not trying to correct you in any way and I apologize if it came across that way.

US flags regs are pretty clear on flying a flag on a vehicle but nothing about a decal except on the the sides of vehicles. I was curious myself so that's why I looked and I can see the American Legions POV.

I retired on 30 Dec 22 as a Dept of Navy Electrical Engineer and most of my required annual training became forced socialist indoctrination. The training was required by Civilian & Uniformed Personnel and interesting enough the person at fault in the trainings 90% of the time an Old White Male. I was talked to about my use of Sir & Ma'am and my pronoun use. I replied, " my degree is in engineering not English " and to use their own words on them I followed with " I feel you're being insensitive to the way I was raised and feel threatened ". The talking too ended quickly. :^)

No you didn’t come off that way. In my response I meant that regardless of how you put the decal on your truck there is bound to be someone to correct you out in public. I wasn’t referring to your comment. I under stood what you meant and that article reflected my research as well.
I got out of the Navy a handful years ago as a Nuke and my last year on the ship I saw exactly what was being done in this regard. It had always been bad (look at how the military chooses its supply vendors for example) but it was absolutely sickening how much worse it got. Mission readiness and safe operation (mind you what our division did) took a back burner to these types of trainings. I was one of the few who pushed back about it. It’s scares me to think about how some other countries (China) have build up a very strong Navy the last few years while ours is focused on indoctrinating young soldiers and making sure very one has their safe space rather than admitting that if you join to serve you are a solder (sailor) and there is no room for individualism or special treatment. You’re there to do a job and that’s it.

Yeah it’s everywhere, I can admit it’s just as bad if not worse in the non military sector. Unfortunately it’s not just one agency or business, it’s most of them.
