Add puddle lights

I have an XLT model Ranger, with the power folding side mirrors. I want to add puddle lights to them, and on the underside I can see the outline of where they would be installed, but it’s not a panel I can remove. I feel like mine might not have the necessary wiring to add these. Does anyone else have this? What can I do, short of replacing the whole assembly?

Xlts should of come with puddle lights, I had the dealer talk to ford about it and figure out how to retrofit. Their answer was it can’t be done, allegedly the wiring isn’t there, the online order guide is wrong, and they are sorry. I’m waiting for an aftermarket puddle light kit to come out, there’s gotta be a way.
