In the past someone on here posted a module cover for the 4 wheel drive knob and they were selling them on eBay, I've looked for them and can not find does anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about, it covers the knob and secures it from spinning freely.

Not my truck but I have one and works pretty well. I sanded it down when I got it and used 3m tape and it's stuck pretty good.

it doesnt spin freely though.....you need to be carless with parts of your body, or cords and then it'll spin to the least favorable spot for your current conditions.
all true. but I wish it had a little more resistance. I have bumped it, probably as you describe, chair dancing to some old disco music or wrangling my 30 foot phone cord while eating a bagel and steering with my knee. Only to realize the error when pulling into a parking spot going WTF is that horrible noise from the front end. then I see I am in 4H on perfectly dry pavement.

I added it for a little safety when my wife is driving the Ranger. She wouldn't realize she bumped it and end up coming home and telling me something is wrong with the truck.
