I pulled the trigger on the Curt harness, and it was super easy to install. The hardest part was just getting the extra cable tied up (and that wasn't really hard at all!!!). I opted to mount it below the bumper since I didn't really care about a stock look. I may re-address that at some point.

One thing that was confusing at first was in order to get the 12v power, the vehicle had to be put into drive at least once. Once that was done, the 12v power was constant until I turned off the vehicle. I assume this is normal, but even if it's not, it's not a big issue.

Now I just have to figure out the Controller. Echo, or Redarc. The video that was posted earlier in this thread showing a Redarc install looked good, but I am having a hard time finding that exact controller (it's the v3, and all I seem to be able to find is the v2). I don't mind the Liberty, but I liked in the video where they mount the knob in the 12v panel. Not sure I can do that with the Liberty.

In any case, the Curt harness was SUPER easy to install. Might have taken 20 minutes.

The picture in my for sale post is the Liberty installed in my old truck. It mounts exactly the same as the Pro. Buy mine and save a few $$!

Thanks. It was tempting, but I ended up going with the Elite. I like having the option of the dual mode.

I really should have known that I was gonna swap the 7 pin connector out for one that fit in the bumper. I found this one at Lowes of all places, and it fits. Although what a PITA to get it to snap in. I had to bend the 'tabs' on the bumper out, and it was still a pain to get in. I then got underneath the truck, and got a screw driver onto the clips on the 7-pin mount and bent them out. it seems solid, but I think I will put some black caulk around it regardless.

Do you guys use die-electric grease on the connection under the truck? I didn't, but it would be simple to pull it apart and apply some.

Also, getting the 12v to light up in my tester seems to take some magic. If I hold my tongue just right, or maybe if I cross my eyes just right. not sure. The one thing that consistently makes it light up is if I plug in my 4 pin trailer tester in. then the truck immediately senses that a trailer is plugged in and the 12v lights up. Maybe my (admittedly cheap) 7 pin doesn't simulate a trailer being plugged in???

Anyways, here is a pic of the new 7 pin in the bumper:

Here is a link to the 7-pin that I used.

Correction: Here is the one I ordered.
