New to this forum thing. I'm going to be installing the 3" SST ReadyLift kit on my 2019 Ranger and was hoping I could go with at least an inch and a half larger tire. I was thinking 255/75r17 using the factory rims. Gonna be doing some moderate offroading so I dont want the tire rubbing at full articulation. Can I use this tire and what is the tallest tire I can use when using the factory rims?

Many on here with the front leveling kit are running 285/70R17 on the factory rims needing only a 1/4" spacer to keep the tire from hitting the suspension (will be doing that myself in the next week or so)

With a 255 tire you won't need that.

The 285 is a bit over 1/2" taller and more than an inch narrower than the tire you are thinking about.

Go HERE for a good tire size comparison tool.

Ok. I'm using the tire comparison tool and it looks like the 285/70R17 is about an inch wider and slightly taller than the 255/75R17, but in order to use the 285 tire with no rubbing I will need at least a 1/4" spacer?

That's correct. The 1/4" spacer is necessary to push the factory wheel out slightly so that the 285 tire doesn't contact the front suspension.

With a 255 that spacer would most likely not be necessary.

For a detailed description of running the 285's on stock rims with the SST leveling kit, see the thread HERE

Lots of pictures and the needed spacers are listed in the thread. They are about $32 on Amazon.

255/75 should fit perfect on factory wheels with no other modifications, except maybe removing the plastic liners on the crash bars

265/70R-17 may be a consideration as well. This size is about 1.5-inches taller than factory and shouldn't require any modifications, especially with the lift installed.

As mentioned, 255/75R-17 works as well.
