Hi Im new here so sorry if theres a better thread to post to about these questions.

I have a 2019 ranger xlt with the eibach leveling struts. I want to get 255/75r17 (32.1x10) tires with 17x8 25mm offset wheels but want to make sure they wont rub. Ive seen some people on here with slightly wider tires that rub. Does anyone know for certain if this tire/wheel setup will rub at all?

Also for wheels Im looking at the RTX slate 17x8 25mm offset. The discount tire website is saying these wont fit my truck. But customoffsets says they do fit

Thanks for all the help. Just doing my due diligence before spending all this money

You should be fine. My wife’s truck has the same setup with slightly different size tires. I put 265/70s on hers, no rubbing. 255/75s are .4” skinner and .5” taller sidewall. I think you’ll be fine.

Her wheels are either 12 or 25MM offset, I don’t remember which ones I put on her truck and which ones I put on mine… Either way, you’re looking +or- .5” offset. If your tires are getting within .5” of rubbing, you’re cutting it way too close with clearance anyway.

Just confirmed my truck has a 3.5” lift with 255/80/17s on 25 offset wheels, wife’s are the 12 offset. With my truck, I did have to remove the crash bars or my tires would rub at full lock.
Just from googling stuff, it says it should work but you may experience some slight rubbing at full lock. This is what google says, for what’s it’s worth…
Yes, 255/75R17 tires can be fitted on a Ford Ranger with 25mm offset, 8" wide wheels, and a leveling kit. Specifically, the 255/75R17 tire size is likely to fit with a 2" leveling kit, and a 25mm offset wheel should also allow for good clearance.

Elaboration:
  • Tire Size:
The 255/75R17 tire size is considered a common and acceptable size for Ford Rangers, particularly when paired with a leveling kit.

  • Wheel Offset:
A 25mm offset, combined with an 8" wide wheel, should provide adequate clearance for the tires, ensuring they don't rub against the frame or suspension components.

  • Leveling Kit:
A leveling kit helps to raise the front end of the vehicle, providing more space for larger tires like the 255/75R17.
Important Considerations:
  • Potential Rubbing:
Even with a leveling kit and a 25mm offset, there's a slight possibility of rubbing, especially during turning or when the suspension compresses.
