5 or 6 years ago I bought myself this bitchin' old ride for 900$. Forget what the ODO reads.. but from the amount of sludge under its valve covers... it's rolled over at least once lol.
It came with the wheezebag 305, a whiny 700r4, and 2.73 or 2.42 rear gears. Needless to say, it wouldn't dream of spinning a tire on dry tar. I DID get it to spin a tire ONCE... but it required wet sandy pavement.. turning right full-lock.. and all the throttle lol.
I drove it for 2 summers happy as a clam.. apart from needing to occasionally vacuum up acorns off the floor brought in by mice ?
At the end of the 2nd summer I decided it needed more power. The initial plan.. and what I started to do.. was put together a home-brew turbo setup for it. When the 305 blew up I was going to drop a mild built 350 in it and call it good. I ditched that idea and sold off all my turbo crap when I realized how much power an LS motor can hold in stock form... and how cheap LS swap parts had gotten in the past few years.
I've spent the last few years trying not to change my plan anymore and amassing a big expensive pile of parts.
-4.8 truck motor (I like the underdog)
Holley cast oil pan to fit chassis
Holley sniper intake
Holley dipstick kit
ICT valley cover
ICT timing cover w/ twin turbo drains
ICT motor mount plate
ICT heatercore bypass
Up & forward headers
FITech 600hp boost/nitrous e-carb
Vibrant AN fittings & stainless braided hose for everything
A/O sperator & a vented Breather tank
New stock tank & In tank efi retrofit pump
FTI level 4 th400 trans with brake
B&M nitrous holehot converter 2800 stall
15x5 front wheels wrapped in 165/85s
15x10 rear wheels
Brand new front end bits
Probably more I'm forgetting. Some of the parts were bought when I was still gonna go with the 305 and now need to be sold & different parts bought... the FITech carb and converter mostly. I'm going to buy the 1200hp holley sniper carb setup and I'm thinking a converter In the 3800 range will do for now.
Also on top of the list for purchase is a ford 9" axle, mini spool, and 3.73s. Tax returns!
The remainder of everything else will be purchased when able between now and... whenever it's done lol.
Ideally I'd swap the cam, but that can wait. I just need to get the thing running and have some fun with it for now. I do have a set of 6.0 heads at my disposal.. bigger valves & bigger chamber than the 4.8 heads.. they'll get used whenever I do a cam swap.. and oh yeah... I have a 3/71 blower to rebuild and mount to this thing too ?... that's for another day (year) however
