Tacomas have drum brakes & Birfield joints. I'm not purchasing a ~2020 vehicle with 35 year old technology in it.
I liked the front locker on the Colorado, but I couldn't get over how unreliable their transmission is.
The Frontier hasn't been updated since 2003, but somehow still seemed more...
Just passing on a pet peeve that one of my engineering professors pounded into my head. I would guess that 'most' of you are damping your tailgates, not dampening them, though some of you may enjoy a moist tailgate.
Damp:
Definition of damp transitive verb. 1a : to affect with or as if...
I took half of the readylift spacer kit and installed it. Gave me a small 1" level which I think is perfect. Enough rake that I don't squat when loaded up but also not so much rake that it looks goofy. Just looks like how it should have come from the factory.
Okay let's talk jacks. I've got a level, & 32's so between those I'm not sure the factory jack will get my front tires off the ground, and particularly not while on trails. I don't have any body armor (yet) so a hi-lift jack doesn't really do much for me without destroying the truck. I do have...
Same here. I don't want it to be a chore to remove a RTT when I want to use my truck as a truck. Much easier for me to just throw a tent in when I need it.
I've got an early model. February 2019 manufacture date. I've got all the goodies and no problems :p (knock on wood). Heck I remember when it was such a big deal 6 months into driving the thing when I saw my first other ranger in the wild! Now they're everywhere.
Just get rid of it. It's been listed in my area for free for over a week and still nothing... for FREE. I'd hate for it to go to waste, so if you pay the cost of shipping I'll send it your way. I have no idea how to ship a wheel+tire, feel free to PM me if you know what I should do.
I just wasn't about to buy a brand new 2019 vehicle with drum brakes. Wasn't going to happen. It's weird how Toyota keeps defending their drum brakes too... It's like someone in the 80's bought a ten million sets of them and thought "Let's get in on this bulk deal, there will NEVER be a time...
I did a full size spare since I went up a tire size (and switched to falkens) and it irked me that the spare rim was a different size than my main wheels.
But now what do I do with my old spare? It seems like I can't even give it away even though it's an unused 265/65/17 Hankook Dynapro. It's...
+1 on the ditch lights. I have 3 sets of Aux lights and if I could only have 1 it'd be the ditch lights hands down.
Keep in mind the Rigids aren't street legal, vs your factory ones which are.
Which Company do you think looks best? They are similarly priced and come out at about the same time. I'm glad we finally have some options though!

So I installed half of the Readylift kit, just the top spacer and that gave me just under 1" of level which is perfect. That being said paying $200 for that is ridiculous, luckily I got a good deal from a member here on his old one.
Since I'm trying to gauge interest on sway bar disconnects...
Okay I haven't forgotten about this. I have a preliminary design nearly complete. It will require a custom machined part that I am getting quoted by local machine shops, but I can also post DIY instructions on how to convert some off-the shelf hardware into what you'll need.
I'm developing a...
