I think my truck sounds the exact same with the bug deflector as it did without. As far as I can tell, it does not cut down any wind noises.

Installed the AVS today and it turned out great. All together, took maybe 10 minutes to install. Went for a test drive at about 75 mph and no whistling or loud wind noises. Seems like a wonderful product.

I completely agree with you. They don't follow the directions and then get defensive when it is mentioned that it is installed incorrectly. If only the dealership could just own up to their mistakes and correct them so they don't happen again.

I have been running 89 as well. I'm having a hard time finding forums on what fuel most people are using. Do you plan on sticking with 89? Could this potentially harm the engine since it is tuned to 87? If anyone knows the answers please feel free to let me know. I keep going back and forth...

That could be it! Thanks and I will mention this to Ford. I told them earlier today I thought it might be installed wrong but they said they have installed thousands of them... apparently thousands the wrong way. Thanks for catching that!

Ford used clips to install it and there are black, rubber cones on the back of the deflector that are barely touching my hood. They are hopefully going to replace it this week so fingers crossed on the new one. Glad to hear none of you are having problems!!

Haha sure seems like it! Took it on a 4 hour trip with friends this weekend and I'm pretty none of them will be riding in my truck until it is fixed. Not even the radio could drown out the noise. Saves miles not taking my truck next road trip!!

I am not near my truck to take a photo of my exact setup but I attached a photo of the bug deflector I'm having trouble with. Bending the clips in did not work. Still a high pitch sound but now even at lower speeds. I will have to try the rag idea.

I tried bending the clips in a touch which held the bug deflector closer to the hood. Hopefully it helps. I'm going to have Ford look at it this week and hopefully replace it if they can't fix it. Seems like mine is the only one I have heard of that whistles super loud
