I have seen that a few people on here have wrapped their trim pieces with vinyl but has anyone sanded them down and painted them yet? I have heard that on the black widow f150s they sand everything down and paint it a glossy black. I was thinking about doing that and then possibly painting the...

The part number is 25954. Bugflector II for $58.50 at autoanything.com. As some people mentioned in here, I too covered the engine with a blanket incase any parts fell and bought a door panel removal tool from an auto parts store for 9...
Installed the AVS today and it turned out great. All together, took maybe 10 minutes to install. Went for a test drive at about 75 mph and no whistling or loud wind noises. Seems like a wonderful product.
I completely agree with you. They don't follow the directions and then get defensive when it is mentioned that it is installed incorrectly. If only the dealership could just own up to their mistakes and correct them so they don't happen again.
Update on the bug deflector. Ford was unable to fix it and told me a new one wouldn't help. They did agree to give me 42,000 ford points because of all of the trouble (hopefully I actually get them) The bug deflector is currently sitting in the garbage at the local ford dealership. They told...
I have been running 89 as well. I'm having a hard time finding forums on what fuel most people are using. Do you plan on sticking with 89? Could this potentially harm the engine since it is tuned to 87? If anyone knows the answers please feel free to let me know. I keep going back and forth...
Hey Phil,
Yes, this was purchased as a new vehicle. I think that the dealership is the main cause of my problems. I have been getting rentals paid for by the dealership, whether a car from the lot or enterprise when they don't have a car available. As for the tires, I don't know what to think...
That could be it! Thanks and I will mention this to Ford. I told them earlier today I thought it might be installed wrong but they said they have installed thousands of them... apparently thousands the wrong way. Thanks for catching that!
Ford used clips to install it and there are black, rubber cones on the back of the deflector that are barely touching my hood. They are hopefully going to replace it this week so fingers crossed on the new one. Glad to hear none of you are having problems!!
Hey Phil,
So far I have had my heater quit working (ford fixed a day later), driver door had water coming in from the top of it during a car wash (ford kept my truck three days, blamed it on the cold, dry air, replaced my seal and then forgot to put my door panel screws back in after checking...
I have had so many issues with my new truck that I would take back any of my previous vehicles. I can't help but to think I made the worst decision possible. Now it is the game of paying it down as quick as possible to get rid of it.
Haha sure seems like it! Took it on a 4 hour trip with friends this weekend and I'm pretty none of them will be riding in my truck until it is fixed. Not even the radio could drown out the noise. Saves miles not taking my truck next road trip!!
