  1. Very stubborn wheel movement with squeal

Update: So a different shop, authorized Ford maintenance, checked things out. According to them, the wheel should be about that stiff. Seems weird to me, but I obviously dont know anything. As for the squeal, they couldnt find anything amiss with the break system. However, they did throw out a...
  2. Very stubborn wheel movement with squeal

Good call. It's down now, but I'll try that in the AM.
  3. Very stubborn wheel movement with squeal

Maybe? But I havent gotten a chance to be off road - or even on gravel - since the lift (sad, I know haha).
  4. Very stubborn wheel movement with squeal

I recently noticed a very mild squealing sound coming from my front left wheel. I finally got it jacked up and, sure enough, I was able to recreate the sound while rotating the wheel. I assume this has to be breaks, but I was told they were in great shape a few months ago at my last service...
  5. What did you do to your Ranger today?

How is the throttle response compared to stock after all this? I'm considering an almost identical lift and tire/wheel combo, but I'm worried about power loss from the larger tires. Is it noticeable? How bad is the hit to MPG? Did you run a tune as well?
  6. Show & Tell: My adventures in bed mounting and using available holes (that sounds so dirty :) )

Very cool. Ive been waiting for someone to figure this one out. Can you explain a bit more about the bracket in the picture I quoted? The clip on the top... how did you get it into the top rail like that.
  7. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

Awesome.... Yeah, I totally assumed people had done exactly what you did to your raptor, but for some reason could not find any good info. And even just sheet metal screws? Wow, I guess I kind of over thought this one haha.
  8. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

As far as I can tell, the rivnuts are holding up just fine. And the combination with the quickfists has made for a very secure shovel mount that can still be accessed easily. I should note that I do live in the great basin, and automotive rust/corrosion (my main concern in the long run) is far...
  9. Reverse sensing system with hitch bike rack

Oh I totally get why the system you just described is a slick setup for hauling. The silliness I'm referring to is that nowhere in all the menus/controls is there a way to deactivate only the rear radar. The solution, it seems, is to trick the truck into thinking a trailer is wired up (or to...
  10. Reverse sensing system with hitch bike rack

Nailed it..... after a closer look at the owner's manual, thats exactly what I was doing wrong. It seems a little silly that I'll NEED to hook up an accessory (or tester, as you suggested) to make this work, but at least im only out $6 for the cheap option. Thanks for all the help!
  11. Reverse sensing system with hitch bike rack

Ill try this again, but it didnt work when I tried it earlier before I posted. Do I need to restart the car after I set it or something? I also tried a "6ft trailer" just in case, but alas.
  12. Reverse sensing system with hitch bike rack

OK! That seems like a clever idea. I dont ever tow anything.... But I guess this means that when a trailer is properly wired-up, the truck knows to disable that alarm?
  13. Reverse sensing system with hitch bike rack

Any other owners out there who use a hitch rack for bikes or other gear? My problem is, with my bike rack installed (loaded or not), the reverse radars get tripped-up and assume im about to hit something. Meaning, any time the truck is in reverse, I get beeped at until I go insane....or I finish...
  14. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

Well, you told me not to, but I did it anyway. If this fails in the long run, I'll at least be happy to have this serve as a clear warning to others. Anyway, in the end, I decided to mount the QuickFists straight into the bed using JackNuts. This option was chosen for two reasons: 1) I couldn't...
  15. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

Interesting idea with using adhesive. I hadn't considered that. I admit I dont have much experience with how the 3M products would perform in these conditions. You'll have to let me know if you have any success with that strategy.
  16. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

I was messing with that idea as well. You could probably come up with something and I agree its low risk, but they sure do stick a ways into the bed. I still think you would need something to hold whatever you had mounted down closer to the sides.
  17. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

There is probably some truth to the whole solution in search of a problem interpretation. But, here is what I’m thinking about with a more tangible example: Shovel mocked up in place and what my aluminum angle would look like on the other side. And thanks... I did catch the guy that covered his...
  18. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

Sure. The end goal here is to create some organization for tools/camping gear. For example, a shovel latched lengthwise along the inside wall of the bed, stowed up off the bed itself and not sliding around. And perhaps as lateral support for a fire extinguisher... meaning the weight of it is...
  19. Survey: Options for mounting QuickFist clamps in the bed

Hey All, I just cant seem to make a decision on this bed modification I have in mind, and so I want to hear what y'all think. You guys have more free time these days, no? Haha :frown: Like many people, I'd like to install a few QuickFist clamps to the bed interior to help organize...
