Haha, I was worried you might say that. I couldn't find any way to get the cable weaseled in so I reached for the drill. I'll update tonight.
EDIT: Oops... I see it now. Could have routed it lower and behind the gap in the lower panel. Well, at least I can't see my mistake when I'm driving. Ha...
This is phenomenal... thanks a ton! I'll let ya know how it goes.
EDIT: This went really smoothly last evening thanks to your extra tips and pictures. Thanks again!
And in case anyone else is following this: I guess I also didn't realize that one needs to drill in two places to make this work...
I routed the cable behind the dash so it's no longer in the way. Comes out behind the phone for easy connect.
Poke it through the hole in the factory tray and snap the tray back down. Drop the phone holder back in place and Voila!
OK. You got me.... how on earth did you fish the cable down...
I've had my set of MaxLiners for about a month now, and Im actually fairly unhappy. For one, the clips not seem to want to stay clipped, and I've broken two of said clips trying to get them back into place. Has anyone noticed anything similar? Maybe im doing to wrong haha? They also feel kinda...
I'm dealing with the exact same issue with my MaxLiners. Not only are they breaking, but they aren't staying clipped in the first place. Did they give you much grief over the return?
Thanks for the response! I actually ended up doing this last evening and it went pretty smoothly thanks to your pictures. The hardest part was unclipping the sensor body from its wiring harness; which was tricky due to the angle and it being hidden behind the vent cowling. But after I got it...
Thanks for all the info! Have you noticed anything in your environmental controls acting strange since this modification? Also, any tips for removing and re-installing the vent piece without damaging the sensor?
Did you encounter any issues with the spare getting in the way of the install? I noticed the instructions say that it isnt necessary to lower the spare first (not sure why this would be needed), but mine would not get into position with the spare in place
