  1. Hit & Run!

Having just replaced my taillight due to some idiot's shopping cart, yeah, that alone is a little over $1k... hope you have a good collision deductable.
  2. Biggest tires, no lift?

Thanks for the info Paul. The FX2 has the same suspension as the FX4 - I still have the stock charcoal 17's like yours with 265/65's. I've scoured every post here trying to find someone that's done the 265/70 bump + offset wheels, but finding someone who's done that without also doing the level...
  3. Biggest tires, no lift?

Love that look. How close is it to rubbing the crash bars? I'm wanting to do that tire size on 1" offset wheels but kinda thinking I'm going to have to pick one or the other since I don't want to have to remove the bars or lift it (yet).
  4. When Do You Fill Up?

normally 1/4 tank... but there was this one time... ?
  5. FX4 Badging

Yeah, mine lasted a whole 2 minutes after getting it home - came off super easy since it was still freshly applied (either that or it being a substandard FX2 instead of FX4 made it less grippy...). But the decision was made even easier due to graphics dept having not updated it since the '98...
  6. A visit to my local dealer

Man, I got in just under the wire when I got my Ranger for just under MSRP in April. But then, wouldn't expect anything less from Vista, though I'm biased as they completely blew me off when I swung by to see what they had for Rangers then... Also, now I know who's driving the lightning blue...
  7. Why the level? Why the rake?

Hey now, the Lollipop Guild resents this jab... Not so much being short, but the bed and sides are high enough that loading up and strapping down a bunch of slabs or ply isnt's exactly impossible, but certainly a pita.
  8. Why the level? Why the rake?

I personally kinda like the factory rake and don't plan on changing it. As I got my ranger primarily for hauling lumber, I could see maybe lowering the rear a tad just cause the bed is borderline obscenely high for that... I'd only look at leveling the front If I had any plans of any serious...
  9. How fast have you driven in your Ranger?

    Soooo, only 88? ;)
  10. Factory Ford Bug Deflector

It's auto trim adhesive, same stuff that holds on emblems and such. As long as you prep the surface as directed (remove any wax, alcohol wipe) that stuff isn't letting go without a heatgun after 24hrs. I have the AVS version of the OEM deflector and it can take a direct hit from pressure washer...
  11. Biggest tires, no lift?

Question for the 265/70r17 no lift/level, no cut folks. Has anyone played around with spacers/offsets at that size? I've scoured the tire threads and closest I came to was @FULLSCALE at one point having 265/70 with 1" spacers and only needing to adjust the crash bars. There's the article...
  12. Rangers, Rangers everywhere!!

SoCal/Central Coast is still pretty much Taco country with maybe 1 in 10 a mix of all the others, but am starting to see more Rangers in that 10%
  13. New Scab Owner With Two Questions

Pulled mine today to check on this and can confirm that as of a 3/21 XLT with cloth seats, the headrests are just a foam block with the posts inserted, no tilt mechanism anymore, so into the garage they go. I did have to loosen the bolt in under the carseat anchor strap between the posts in to...
  14. Rust on drive shaft flange

Was just about to ask the same thing as mine has a diff lock too... guessing they used a different set up on the Tremor
  15. Rust on drive shaft flange

Yeah, that's kinda what I'd have expected to see. Might still just contact the dealer and see what they say though pretty sure they'll shrug it off as a non-issue.
  16. Rust on drive shaft flange

Figured it was just superficial surface rust but didn't hurt to ask. Just have never had any any visible rust on any of my previous vehicles (aside from restortation project car, which is why I was concerned here, cause that was an endless issue), but then all my cars had much less exposed from...
  17. Rust on drive shaft flange

Okay, so hoping this is a stupid question and nothing to be concerned about, but noticed a bit of rust on the drive shaft flange while I was installing my running boards. Looks to be just surface rust due to untreated steel and doesn't seem to affect the yoke (although there is some at the...
  18. Poor Factory Quality Control

I honestly thought the hood overhang was how it was meant to be... I'd pointed it out at the dealer but with both rangers on either side having the same overhang so figured it was normal, just a little odd. At least it's even on both sides but guess I'll try to pull the fenders out and then...
  19. Made the jump

Looks good... and yeah, you get the right mix of black on these and you get a nice stormtrooper vibe going - the white was one of my top 3 colors. Holding off on any sort of level for now until I see what happens when I load it up with wood slabs and lumber, don't want to end up angled up. But...
  20. Made the jump

Yeah, it's on the 265/65r17 Hankook's now, which aren't horrible, but certainly won't miss them when I replace them.
