That 12.7v won't last long with anything drawing power and with cars these days, there is always something drawing power. You would have to disconnect the positive the instant you stop driving and then wait and check. Or top it off without it connected to the car.
And the new charging in...
That's a nice spot for the switch. I have not permanently mounted my switch yet. I just have the cable coming up with the switch attached. Was waiting to see where Ford put it.
Took my 10-ton utlity trailer for a short test spin with the Ranger using the Redarc. Everything worked well. The trailer battery was charging with the 12v (the 12v only is on when the engine is running, not with the key at accessory). The brakes worked well. I had the blue trailer brake...
I did a short test drive with my 10 ton utility trailer and was very surprised how high the ranger receiver is. I backed it up to my F250 with plow package (higher then normal F250) and you can see that the Ranger is 3-5 inches higher than the F250.
I used a 4 inch drop with my utility...
What my salesman explained to me is that their tracker shows a delivery window of about a week or two wide. Out tracker shows the last day of the window only.
My tracker showed 13 days to go for two days after mine was already at home. Then on the third day it showed Delivered.
I think the...
The 12V trailer is used to charge the trailer brake battery in the trailer. If it was always on, it could drain the truck battery. So pretty sure only on when ignition is on.
I've been using it in deep sand on the beach and it's amazing. By far the most sand capable vehicle I've tried. A totally inexperienced person can drive in difficult sand with this feature and make an experienced off road driver in a regular 4x4 pickup look like a fool.
I spent an hour digging through the manual about this button. Thanks, on the left side of p149. Describes how it changes the shifting. My 2008 F250 has this and it seems to work the same on the new Ranger.
Will try that tomorrow. I have several trailers. The newest that I know has everything working electrically is a utility trailer with a 7,000lb directional drill on it. So I can hook up to test, but I'm not doing to pull it far with the new Ranger. I'll also try on another trailer but not...
Mine is also BLUE wire to match the industry standard color for the trailer brake wire.
This change caused me a lot of digging around.
@FX4Offroad and @oggvorbis Is there anyway you can update your threads to mention that the wire is green/white on early builds but solid Blue on later build...

Yeah so having dealt with this with public company stock price issues. Typically there are lawyers that look for ANYTHING bad about a company on the internet. They then try to find one or more people who own the stock or the product to contact them about getting involved in a class...
I have 420 miles and the dash says 26.2 MPG. 90 of those miles was slower on country roads where my F250 gets 12.5 MPG and the rest was a 60-70 MPH road trip to the beach.
It seemed to get better MPG at 65-70 compared to 55-60 driving . But the engine is still new and tight and my experience...
My dealer said three hours. If it came in before 4:30pm he’d keep people overtime so I could pick up that night. They can also assign more than one tech to get it ready.
In the end it depends on how quickly they want to make the sale and how busy their shop is. Mine tires were perfect, truck...
I often let out the air and I have gotten my F250 stuck when I didn’t let out the air, but Ididn’t let the air out on the Ranger and didn’t need to.
