Not sure about reliability, but the 8 speed shifts better than the 10R80 or the 10R60s that I've driven. On my truck, I actually often disable 9 and 10 when driving locally as it seems to minimize the gear hunting.

When I first installed a sub in my truck, the fake engine noise was its favorite song. Removing the engine noise with Forscan finally allowed the sub to be useable.

Colorado/Canyon is keeping the 8 speed. The Silverado is getting the 10 speed.

I don't care for the No Dipstick aspect at all. However, if I get one it will be from the local Chevy dealer that has lifetime powertrain warranty. And since my driving will equal 1 oil/filter change per year, getting it done at the dealer so that everything is documented is not really an issue.

I've actually already done that comparison, and I surprised myself as much as anybody by liking the ZR2 better. If I get a new vehicle, it WILL have ventilated and cooled seats.

Tow mode does a great job of engine braking. And fully agree with @Glocker on the drilled/slotted rotors on a vehicle that goes off road. Any potential benefits are outweighed by many potential problems.
