My 6'5" neighbor drilled an extra set of holes in the mower handle bracket to raise it up another few inches. He bought a snowblower based on how high the handles were. I just make my wife do those things. ;) If there's a will, there's a way.

Pretty sure I could get in and out of that one easier than the original.

Check your leaf springs. One may be cracked at the front mount. Mine sounded like a knock from around the bed area on my SCAB. Jack it up towards the rear until the tire is off the ground and you'll see the spring hanging down if it's broke. Won't see the crack otherwise.
