  1. coilovers for rear

Yes, Check out Doc's Freakride install.
  2. Lowered Ranger version 2.0

I had to retire V1.0 The modified FX front shocks with RWD springs seated 1.25" lower than OEM worked well for the 2" drop I wanted, the FX shocks helped with the harsh ride, but just not enough. The rearched rear springs were still too stiff, and both actually broke at flaws in the steel...
  3. Why the level? Why the rake?

In my case, I carry a full HVACR contractor's kit in the bed. Parts, tools, 3 or 4 different freons. Torch, recovery tank and pump, vacuum, etc etc etc. Dropping the bed makes access significantly easier. I cat get to anything in the bed from beside the truck. Don't have to have a step to...
  4. Why the level? Why the rake?

I think yes, the rake is result of building the truck with best in class tow capacity while maintaining a (barely) tolerable ride. For most, the leveling is 100% cosmetic. Owners are looking for a more aggressive stance, or looking to ease the rake. Others are looking to add some off road...
  5. FX2 Off-Road tuned suspension?

It'll have the same FX suspension pieces and yes, many find the shocks unacceptable. I replaced the rear shocks on my wife's FX5 to tame the bounce. But, I added FX front shocks to my rwd to soften the harshness there.
  6. Chevy 64 inch leaf spring swap

Hmm, OEM Ranger springs are 52" with a 22/29 split. The through the frame rear shackles are pretty far back so I'm unsure there's enough space to add another 12" of spring.
  7. XLT vs Lariat gauge cluster

I'm running with an XLT dash cluster in my Lariat. The cluster is plug and play, but...you loose the Nav, Media and Phone display. Worse, the upper right steering wheel switch pack also looses most functions. The good news is you can swap In an XLT switch pack, make a single SCCM config...
  8. Floor Liners Poll

Huskey X-Act all the way. Have them in both my RWD and wife's FX4. The OEM Ford floor liners are a waste of money. Poor total coverage, my drivers side only lasted a year/20K miles before wearing out under my right heel.
  9. Leaf spring center bolts

10 mm with a 14 mm head to locate the axle's spring perch.
  10. XLT Cluster in a Lariat?

Swapped in an XLT spec right hand steering wheel switch: Remove steering wheel air bag. There are a pair of holes on the back.of the wheel. Insert a small screwdriver or other long, thin tool straight into each of the holes to release the clips to free the air bag. The switch cover has 4...
  11. XLT Cluster in a Lariat?

I've got an XLT cluster in my Lariat, love it! Plug and play. Had to change the right hand steering wheel switch to get control of the audio system back. The switch is NOT plug and play, took some sleuthing along with some trial and error with Forscan. Easy one value change. I have hopes I...
  12. Anybody planning to lower their 2019 Ranger?

Not really. It'll lower the rear bumper by just about that inch, but you'll see less than half that over the axle.
  13. extended and compressed length of oe strut

OK, on a bare front, top of strut to bottom of the trunion..... Uncompressed 21 5/8" Fully compressed 17 3/4"
  14. Homeowners Associations

At least you've got adults on the board that are willing to reverse course when they stray. Mine is so bad I have a law firm on retainer and have a different (beautiful) piece of property for sale to avoid that HOA's president who is also my local Vice President! What are the chances I'd buy a...
  15. extended and compressed length of oe strut

I've got a set of naked fronts in my garage, will take a tape measure to one of them later today.
  16. extended and compressed length of oe strut

I've got a set of naked fronts in my garage, will take a tape measure to one of them later today.
  17. Ranger Ride

Unfortunately, best in class towing comes at a price. Like many, I wish Ford had left the HD suspension as part of the towing package and given the rest of us a more supple solution. Good luck with the full size GMC, it's a completely different set of compromises for a different set of...
  18. Anyone running a Diamondback Cover?

Yes, the lock/latches on the Diamondback have no impact on the tailgate.
  19. Anyone running a Diamondback Cover?

Have one on both mine, and my wife's Rangers. Pros: Utility, strength, security Con: key lock on trucks with no key! Added auto lighting and power locks tied to rest of the locks. Great, maybe fantastic cover!
