  1. Do I really need aftermarket shocks?

I tow a similar weight travel trailer, 24 foot long and about 5000 gross weight. I absolutely recommend a WDH as a necessity. I use the Fastway Products E2 Equalizer round bar, 8000 lb rating. It's more than I need but it does very well in keeping the truck level, no sagging, no hitting the...
  2. Hesitation: transmission or something else?

    I have a 2020 Lariat 4x4 and don't experience that kind of hesitation. I have 37k miles.
  3. 30,000 Mile Maintenance

Sorry, asleep at the wheel this morning... No rear rotors? That's just great. My brakes have a slight shudder to them under load, feels like a warped rotor to me. I have 34k miles.
  4. What are you guys towing?

  5. New tow mirrors

The ClearView mirrors have BLIS, folding, heated, turn signals but they cost $975 for that model. I'm dreaming about them.
  6. What are you using for tow mirrors?

I had the same experience, having the mirrors fold back every time a big truck would pass by going the other way. I gave up on the tow mirrors and just use the standard ones. Besides, my trailer is wider than the truck so the additional mirrors didn't help that much.
  7. 30,000 Mile Maintenance

I do my own maintenance also. You can get the cabin filter and a better air filter on Amazon.
  8. Tow Mirrors

those are the style I have too. they basically did the job, but on two lane roads when a semi would pass going the other way, the mirror on driver's side kept folding in from the air pressure. Not ideal.
  9. Fuel economy and brand of gas

I run Chevron or Shell gas, 91 octane. My average gas mileage over the last 8000 miles is 20.6. I drive about 60% freeway and the rest is city.
  10. Sync 3 shows no updates available over wifi

I got tired of waiting for the wifi method so I tried the USB stick method. It worked but failed to create an output file that tells Ford you've updated. Oh well. No problems with the update so far.
  11. What Made You Chose the Ranger over the F150?

I tow a 4600 lb travel trailer no problems. And my 110 lb Great Pyrenees does great in the back seat.
  12. Why did you pick the Ranger over the Tacoma?

I chose the Ranger over the Tacoma because 1: Ranger has a higher tow capacity and 2: I'm a Ford guy. And I fit better in the Ranger.
  13. Tongue/hitch weight

I tow a travel trailer, 24 feet long, approximately 5000 pounds fully loaded. Have a 2020 Lariat Supercrew. It pulls the weight fine especially in tow/haul mode. The wind tends to push the trailer around, which you feel in the truck. I use a weight distribution hitch. I think this size...
  14. Folding Tonneau Cover -Poll (Favorites)

Well I called BakFlip and it turns out that the 2020 Ranger needs some additional pieces to install the MX4. After reviewing the instructions they emailed me it was obvious that this extra stuff is needed. They sent the parts out today. Very good customer service.
  15. Folding Tonneau Cover -Poll (Favorites)

I'm in the middle of installing my MX4 BakFlip. The clamps for the rails just aren't long enough to get a good grip on the bed rail. Guess I'll be calling tech support.
  16. What did you let go to get your Ranger?

I gave up my 92 F-250 XLT with the 460 V8. But I gained four wheel drive and get twice the gas mileage of the old truck. I do miss the twin gas tanks though, the Ranger tank is too small, especially if you're towing.
  17. Colorado Black Appearance Package wheels with TPMS and 265/65/18 BFG KO2's

If I was still in Evergreen I'd make an offer. Did those fit with stock suspension (FX4) or did you do something to make them fit (level/lift)? TIA
