  1. Race Red Ranger spotted - 2020?

Tint can show funny depending on screens. Looks RR on the iPhone and def doesn’t look anything like HPR to me.
  2. Letting Others Drive Your New Ranger

My wife noted to me all the looks she got the one time she drove my truck and how people treated her totally different on the road! Haha
  3. Letting Others Drive Your New Ranger

Wife and my father only. She’s the only one who knows what I’ve sacrificed and invested in the the purchase and work I’ve done on the truck and the only person (outside of my dad) I trust to respect that. And my dad takes care of vehicles, whether a 90’s Corolla or a brand new Denali. Package...
  4. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Thanks for the input, Phil. And you make another good point, too, with regard to the added suspension travel on that joint. When installing, I didn’t note any lateral stress on the rzeppa joint (once the UCA and knuckle were rejoined at the ball joint, of course). Once the suspension was...
  5. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

I do believe so. I would think that should alleviate any lateral force on the joint and prevent its dislocation. I’d be interested in getting the perspective of @P. A. Schilke on this, if you have a moment, Phil. For posterity?
  6. Post your off-road pics.

    Thanks!
  7. PNW Chit Chat

It’d be fun to start or have something like a PNW Ranger Rally. So much room to run here!! And plenty of Rangers, even if they’re not all 2019’s. Wonder if there’d be enough interest and/or Ranger enthusiasm. I mean, we Ranger drivers are kind of like Taco drivers... but humble. Oh, and we...
  8. PNW Chit Chat

Counting mine, there are a few roaming the Renton/Maple Valley/Kent area. So far, I’m running the only saber one I’ve seen here, yet!
  9. Post your off-road pics.

  10. Tire Size Fitment Master Thread

My truck, riding on: 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers 17x8.5 - Icon Alloys Six Speed w/ +25 offset (“Ranger spec’d”) Icon Stage 2 kit w/ 2.5” level and billet UCA There was some pretty bad rubbing on the front intrusion beams, so my setup includes a Fabtech offset intrusion beam kit and air dam...
  11. Livernois Tuning released

@Livernois Motorsports I live in WA, where 93 can be hard to come by. Generally, 92 is considered “Premium” here. How would this tune run with 92? Would 1 point off the octane level really impact much? Would I just run it with the 93 tune? Do you guys plan on working up something for 92...
  12. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Thanks for the graphic, Phil. I now better understand what you’re looking at. But, that’s not the actual “snap ring” or circlip in question here. The circlip of interest would be the one inside the outer CV boot that holds the shaft portion of the CV joint inside the race/housing. You can...
  13. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

You make a good point, Phil. I don’t see where any lateral force would be put on that snap ring, except during handling and installation. If it were, I guess the snap ring would not be the fastener of choice. And if it holds together, but gives when pulled directly, I suppose it’s done its job...
  14. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Oh man! I really hate to see and hear that, man! And what a “Catch 22” on the warranty for this situation. I’d also be interested in knowing if there’s an equivalent part out there. If only out of curiosity. Could be good to know if my own repairs don’t hold up, somehow. But if there were...
  15. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Nice! Looks great! Yeah, I really like the Sport wheels, and considered doing the same. But in the end, I decided I wanted something different. I liked the Icons, especially, since they came in the offset/backspace I wanted to buff out the stance just so. And once I got the FabTech intrusion...
  16. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Thanks, man. Haha. Yeah, it was super concerning when I couldn't get it to re-seat and had no idea what was going on in there. CV axles basically being consumable parts on cars and small trucks, I've never even thought of rebuilding one. But once I understood how it all fit together, I had a...
  17. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Will do! Already like them better than the FX4 setup. It was way too bouncy for my taste. Also, the Icon upgrade stiffened everything up a bit and made it feel more "truck-like". And I've already noticed a reduction in nose dive and roll while braking and cornering. I've not had it off road...
  18. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

TL;DR - I ended up basically rebuilding my outer CV joint. To explain... After repeated attempts to reseat the axle in the CV joint, I wasn't able to get it to stay in place. With the boot still intact, I wasn't able to see what was going on inside and why the axle wasn't seating. So...
  19. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

Nice. Glad to hear yours went back in! I, on the other hand, was not so fortunate. Chronicling my own experience for posterity and the benefit of others below. Sure we won’t be the only ones to do this.
  20. Outer CV Joint Overextended. Advise???

:like: Thanks for the tip! After some research, I see exactly what you’re saying and think it should work. The boot is still nice and supple, so hasn’t torn and is fully in place. Which means I don’t get to check the position or condition of the snap ring unfortunately. I’ve bought a...
